The Battle of Britain - Ewan McGregor - As seen on BBC1 [DVD]

As the second reviewer I feel somewhat disadvantaged when the original one has said virtually all that others need. I can augment the view that this is a wonderful documentary. The production comes at a critical moment where most of the living heroes are diminishing in numbers and there will come a time where those who survived the ordeal will no longer be alive. This is poignant to the production timing.The filming of the progression of Colin McGregor to become a Spitfire pilot is exemplary and the chemistry between the two brothers is part of the package. I believe that this will appeal to a wide range of people well beyond the Battle of Britain buffs. Exceptional!

I've watched this on the BBC enjoyed it and wanted the DVD so I'd got a copy to keep

I purchased this programme after watching "Bomber Boys" on BBC 2012. The film arrived as dispatched to Amazon from "IMCvision" boxed and shrink wrapped. Amazon post & packaging also well protecting the DVD during transit.A good programme which goes well with the "Bomber Boys" and "First Flight" genra of films.WW2 History and history brought up to date by the McGregor brothers and Veterans.Update 10/03/2012.

A really interesting documentary and well presented. There is some excellent vintage footage of aircraft interspersed with modern day footage plus, I suspect, clips from the excellent Cinema film "The Battle of Britain." Altogether a really good buy. I watched this on the TV when it was first broadcast and again on Yesterday Channel. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to buy my own copy.

This is a great documentary to watch, Ewan and Colin present the Battle of Britain in a way that make's you realise just how blooming lucky we where to have such unselfish people to fight and die for their country, and for the survivors I think you get an insight into just how affected emotionally they have been from their experience's.

my dad thought this DVD was brill he just loves watching it over and over again he just loves watching the flying bits .It was his best Christmas present of the year .As usual good delivery service from amazon as i ordered it on the Saturday and Christmas day was on Wednesday .

Wonderful documentary, expertly told by Ewan McGregor. If you are a devotee of facts about the World Wars, this dvd is an absolute mustfor your collection. Go get it.
