The watch has been fully serviced,cleaned and oiled by a professional watch maker. The watch is working very accurately. Raketa (Russian: Paкéтa; IPA: [rɐˈkʲɛtə], "rocket") watches, have been manufactured since 1961 by the Petrodvorets Watch Factory in Saint Petersburg. The Petrodvoretz Watch Factory is Russia's oldest factory and was founded by Peter the Great in 1721. Raketa watches were produced for the Red Army, the Soviet Navy, for North Pole expeditions, as well as for civilians. As of today Raketa is one of the rare watch brands in the world producing its movements from A to Z. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin made the first manned flight in outer space on the rocket Vostok 1. In honor of this, the Petrodvorets Watch Factory named its watches "rocket", or Raketa in Russian. At the height of the Cold War, however, the name "Raketa" was perceived negatively in the West, as the word was associated with the latest generation of Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles, the R-16. During Soviet times it became one of the most produced watch brand in the world. In the 1970s the factory produced about 5 million mechanical watches per year.

Big and beautiful time piece
Just got this yesterday straight from Ukraine and it's a really splendid piece of machinery. Has kept excellent time for 24 hrs and the workmanship is top notch. I've appreciated Russian equipment for many years and this is a jewel with the new case being just beautiful. The mechanism within and viewable though the clear back is splendid and whoever did the work should be proud of their accomplishment...well done!This is by far my most special time piece and it will no doubt be marveled at by everyone who gets to enjoy looking at it. Seller packaged it extremely well and it arrived in a timely manner with absolutely no damage...which in itself is quite a feat coming from so far away. If you are in the market for a unique and beautiful watch...I wholeheartedly recommend this piece! Send some love to Ukraine.

Unique and beautiful watch
There is not enough space here to convey my satisfaction with this watch. It has kept perfect time for the past week. The finish on the case is perfect for a Soviet-era product. Arrived early in the expected delivery window. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Remember, it's refurbished
I love the watch however I've only had it for a few months and it already siezes up and I have to tap it to get it ticking again. I know it's re-housed but it's a little disappointing how often it stops ticking.

Most awsome watch I have ever owned
I love this watch.)) I just receiced it a few days ago and it is awsome.)) Being an ex military man myself it is more correct to me than an ordinary watch. Plus it brings back my old childhood days where I have to wind the watch instead of just relying on battery power. Where were the good days when we actually did some thing? But this is by far the greatest watch I have ever had. If someone were to ask me about this watch I would say buy, yes buy!!!!!! It is worth the money)))))
