YARDGARD 308229B Hardware Cloth 48 Inch x 50 Foot, Silver

Used for lower half of chicken run.
This is strong stuff. I went with this because it was a better height. We used this for the lower portion and the door of our large chicken run. We live in town, and also have a fenced in yard but we had a neighbor who's pit bull was constantly climbing our fence trying to get into our chicken run. This kept him out on multiple occassions. Luckily those neighbors have since moved so now I can let them out to free range when I'm home.

Best Value
I hate hardware cloth. But this was by far the best value out there and I recommend it. We used this all around our chicken coop (on all sides and buried underground all around it) and we are very pleased with it. It's strong and sturdy but easy enough to cut with wire cutters. For ease of use be sure to unroll it ahead of time and let it flatten out (weigh it down!). P.S wear long sleeves, pants, and sturdy gloves when working with this! Otherwise you'll end up like Freddy Krueger had a field day on your arms and legs.

Cheaper than big box stores, comes in a really big box
Side note: Unfortunately, this product showed up in a flimsy box roughly 5 times larger than the item itself, lined with air cushions that were all popped because the product is so heavy that it squished them. The product itself is great. I'm somewhat disappointed that the grid is somewhat skewed in places (almost wavy) but that won't keep it from serving its purpose; keeping predators out of my chicken coop. This mesh is super strong and even looks great (other than the waviness). It's even much easier to work with than I expected, just make sure to wear gloves and eye protection (since it is coiled up, it has a tendency to spring at your face when it is cut free). Any cheap set of tin-snips will do the trick when cutting.

Arrived quickly good quality
The price was certainly better than the big box stores. I bought more than I needed cause I’m going to build a raised garden and I need to run it along the skirting on the house, which is lattice. Lattice looks pretty but a dog had a litter of puppies under the house so I’ve gotta prevent future critter homes. Anyway, it is currently being used to build a rat cage and it certainly does the trick. I’ll undoubtedly buy more.

Flatten first then zip tie
Here's a tip: if you're putting it on something and want it to lie flat then put it over a rail or bench two feet at a time and bend it straight first. That will save you LOTS of time and fight. Also, forget stapling it into a wooden frame, zip ties for the win

little to no zinc
The metal was smooth and shiny unlike other zinc coated hardware cloth I've purchased recently. The Goplus 1/2 inch Hardware Cloth that I purchased a few days earlier had a definite zinc coating, otherwise identical and a few dollars less.

Look no further
Shipping took a while, but faster than the estimated date so I can't complain...I didn't need it right away anyways. Great price and good wire. I'm using it for a chicken fence, and pest fence and a fence for the compost. It's sturdy, cuts easy with snips so this isn't super thick sturdy stuff...but for the price and the application, it really can't be beat. You can shop around, but for a 4' x 50' roll, you won't find a better price out there...at least I didn't.

Save your money
When I ordered It's got free shipping since I bought two rolls and free shipping would take 5-8 days to get to me. Then I got an email that said it was going to take over 2 months to ship. The next day another email saying it would take 6 days before it would ship. I emailed amazon and said why does it take 6 days just to put a shipping label on it? and then they upgraded my order to standard shipping which took 7 days. I thought all was OK until I got the fencing. The first roll was junk the strands of wire that make up the fencing was coming apart like it was never welded together, as if that wasn't bad enough throughout the fencing strands of wire was missing. I got this to make a chicken run and keep foxes out but with all the missing/not welded wire I think this will not hold up at all. What I had to do was cut out the bad sections and then solder individual wire from scraps to make 1/2 squares were it was missing. There was a section were I was missing 2 feet of a wire strand and I had to solder each square for 2 feet which took almost an hour. Also parts of the fencing was rusted. STAY WAY FROM THIS HARDWARE CLOTH!Update: After talking with Gilbert and Bennett they replaced the defective roll with a new one which is much better. I did order two rolls and the second one was good and now so is the replacement roll is as well.
