Adorable Amigurumi - Cute and Quirky Crocheted Critters: Create your own crocheted stuffed toys

Yes, they are cute! However, the pattern instructions are miserable. Patterns use non-standard abbreviations. There are no graphs, even where they would be highly useful. Photos of pieces of works in progress are included, but sometimes inserted in the wrong spot within the written directions. Materials lists are inaccurate and incomplete. The instructions include weird methods that make things way more complex than they need to be.For the experienced amigurimu-maker, you'll be able to muddle through and with a bit of trial and error, you can successfully complete the projects. However, if you are new to amigurumi this is NOT the book to start with.

I personally bought this book for the beautiful Amigurumi animals that come out here. I personally love the dragon, monkey, lion and toucan amigurumis. I am a beginner and have actually found the instructions pretty easy to follow. With a little help from the internet I figured out how the stitches are made and after a few hours of practice became adept in crochet. It did take me a few hours, since I am a beginner, to gat to start the design, but after many tries, I was able to do it. So I rate this book with a 5 for its amazingly easy to follow instructions and for the beautiful desings you can make. The only con is that I didn't find anywhere in the book the size of the hook to be used and the with of the yarn to be used. Little idea did I have that this impacted a lot in the size of the amigurumi. My first creation ended up being a small version of the dragon since I used a thin yarn and a small size hook. However, the work in progress seems to be going on well and I am happy to know that I can vary the size of my creations. A big pluss for the business idea I have in mind!!

I got this book for my daughter for Christmas and she loved it.

Voodoo Maggie's patterns work and produce results very close to what she shows in the book. She uses several unique construction techniques. However, I would not recommend this for a beginner because of the unique construction techniques - you need to be able to visualize how they're going to work (and occasionally tweak it to make sure it works). The techniques are well illustrated so an intermediate crocheter should have no (or very few) problems, and the result is well worth it.

Instructions are poorly written and there is no stitch count at the end. I've only tried making the monkey and I hope that the others are written better. Would not recommend buying.

I have bought several crochet books and this one looks easy to follow I haven't tried any of the patterns yet but I definetly will. I am working my way through another book and also am doing Winnie the Pooh and Friends so It will be a winter project

I can't say how much I love this book. The monkey is so adorable I get so many people asking me to make it for them. The book author is actually willing to help if you have questions which I thought was great. Very nice book and a must for ami makers

Hoping to learn something from this book

There are some nice patterns in this book. Especially the dragon fly, lady bird and the butterfly are adorable. However, the majority of patterns are very simplistic indeed and, for me, not worth making.My biggest problem with this book is that it does not list the number of stitches at the end of each round. Every other book I own does have them, and it's very inconvenient not to. Also there are quite a few mistakes in the patterns and the counting of the rounds. And experienced crocheter will work out what is meant, but someone new to crocheting would struggle.All in all, unfortunately would not recommend!

Great book for beginners and experienced crafters. Very easy to follow instructions.

There are lots of lovely patterns however although it tells you the amount of yarn, nowhere could I find what type of yarn is used I.e do or 4ply or Aran.

New to Amigurumi and limited experience in crochet i found the pattern for the dragon easy to follow using the illustrations to help clarify instructions
