Good quality
These drill bits are good and sharp but I have only limited use with them so far. One hole to be exact. It is my opinion if used properly these drill bit will work out to be a great supplement to your drill sets.

Color me impressed - buy with confidence
EDIT: Two weeks later and the price of this set has jumped an incredible 39%. My review and satisfaction with these bits stands but it's no longer such a bargain so compare your needs vs a set that costs a little more but may be made of better steel.I am not a machinist but I have become a bit of a drill bit snob to where I am very willing to pay the higher prices of high quality US made drill bits - because they are almost always much better in quality of steel and quality of manufacture. I bought this Maxtool set of wire gauge bits with great hesitation but the reviews seem legit and customer photos show a higher-than-typical quality and looked better than what the product photos show. I have to say that I am extremely impressed and these are a bargain, well worth your money. They are not perfect, nor are they the most durable HSS, but they are a quality steel, excellent overall and I don't regret this purchase at all. If Maxtool offered these in an M7 or M35 steel, I'd buy them. They arrived properly oiled, all the bits where they should be (actually the provided index looks plenty good enough to keep them all in place even with some rattling but I replaced it with a traditional index since it's more compact and I'm used to that style). I laboriously measured each and every one repeatedly with a Starrett 120A dial caliper, inspected tips and grinds, and gave them all a table-roll-test. First, each one of these is ground correctly and very nicely - nary a bur to be seen and the splits are done right. The inside of the flutes have a little grinding texture (not a bad thing necessarily) but the lands and margins are smooth and sharp. I didn't check the point angles but they all look right to me, even the smallest bits in the range.I tested five of them, 5-7 holes each, in 6061 and some 14ga and 1/4" mild steel of some kind. The bits cut great under varying feeds and a couple of them got some abuse with heavy pressure, no lube. One got an abusive tangential hole/edge that caused it to wander and chatter - expected, and the hole was bad of course, but the bit did great, came out unscathed. The finish on these bits isn't especially durable compared to what I'm used to with US bits, but it's not terrible and for anything but aluminum or stainless that is of little consequence anyway if you're not in production. These did gall a little and cling to the aluminum of course, as expected. Once chucked up, all the bits I tested spun true and started drilling true on the surfaces. Exit bur was very minimal (no backer). If I were to nitpick one thing - which I don't want to and which matters exactly zero - it would be that the cut end (base) of the bits is sometimes a little rough or the chamfers are wavy but to be fair I have seen that in US bits from time to time as well. Now the important part: sizing. I'm dinging one star because two bits (16 and 35) were quite undersized at .1745 and .108, respectively. Nearly every other bit is spot on accurate although there were a handful that were .0005-.001 undersized (which for most of us won't matter at all and/or will be negated by runout and vibration in the tool itself). Those two bits are oddballs in the set and I actually wonder how that can happen given what I know about how bits are manufactured. Anyway, no regrets and I think I'd heartily recommend these bits for most people and most uses - really a bargain and light years ahead of all the other cheaper wire gauge bits I've seen on the market, and certainly as good or better than some higher priced imported sets. 135 degree points to boot, I don't think you can go wrong choosing this set. Pleasant surprise for me.

Fast shipping, diameters are accurate, contents were intact and not damaged.
The package arrived within 2 days of ordering! The drill bit set came shipped in an Amazon bubble shipping envelope. After reading a few reviews I was expecting to see the drill bits out of the drill index box and scattered about. All of the bits were in place when I opened the box to inspect them. The shortest bit measured about 1 5/8”, longest is 3 3/4” I am using them to drill pilot holes through red oak trim woodwork. I needed these because a standard fractional bits did not match the diameter of my trim nails I am using. These work perfectly. I am pleased with these bits. I will consider purchasing a letter size drill bit set next from this manufacturer and supplier.

Set is of only fair quality
The drill bits are good, but the drill index is no good, The size (letter) of the drills cannot be seen except on the front row. Also untill I bent a portion of the rear rack the drills got down behind the space at the rear so you could not close the index. As for the bits, they are not marked as to the size.

Better have a micrometer to put them back into case after spilling during shipping
This is a box of drill bits. They are in their natural habitat drilling holes. If you slow down and use correct pressure they may even stay a while. I’m unsure of the material they are made of as I have never seen high speed steel turn gold/bronze during sharpening who’s seems these did from the factory. #41-60 came spilled out of their compartment. The case is not drilled to tolerances where you can just put them back. However during the measuring process I can confirm they are accurate/precise. Definitely worth the 30something bucks if you need wire gauge drill bits

Good Value
The 5 stars are based on the price of the drills, for the money, this is a 5-star product. I am sure there are better bit s for sale for a lot more money. I used them to drill tapping holes, in 1" mild steel I had to drill 15 holes and the bit performed fine I used cutting fluid on the bit and they stood up fine, I didn't need to sharpen and it was still making a good chip on the last hole so I am pleased, also pre-drilled with a small bit.

NOT jobber length
HSS bits are good quality. They drill mild steel as they should. They are NOT jobber length as advertised. They just plain made that up. See photo for a comparison to a REAL jobber length of similar diameter. For me this was not a drawback since I am using these for hole drilling for tapping threads. As other reviewers have stated the bits arrived all jumbled up in the smallest sizes and were a bit of a pain to sort out. The smallest one was missing, but I didn't judge that worth sending back since I am unlikely to use it anyway. The case is adequate. The sizing is not perfect when measured with a micrometer, but it is very close -- close enough to use for drilling holes to cut threads with a tap -- better than fractional drill bits for that purpose.

Great bits for the price
Excellent drill bit set. This is a great bit set for the money, I’ve used then on a daily basis for steel aluminum copper plastics and wood. When used correctly they last a lot longer than the bargain priced bits from the box stores. I haven’t had to sharpen any of them yet and even the smallest hasn’t broken yet. I keep these for use with my HF 13 inch press and save the cheap bits for the hand drill.
