Honestly I was hesitant to purchase after reading the reviews, especially the guys claiming to be an engineer which honestly now that I think about it makes perfect sense. These work great. I used a torch with a broad spectrum of adjustable flame. Heat the ends to secure the connector to both wires so they don’t move on you, then just go low and slow until the solder melts. I didn’t damage a single one out of the 20 I used. I will use these forever. You just have to have some mechanical know how and patience and these are a god send.

These did not perform well at all. The solder would not melt, and the wires just pulled right out. I tried with both a small heat gun and a larger, much hotter one. Neither one would melt the solder inside the connector.

It's okay I guess and I say that after trying to connect intake temp and fuel pressure wires so 24 gauge wires (5 wires total). I used the clear ones. It would work with some and others I'd have to do it again until it holds. I tried to force the wire strans together because putting it side by side would ways fail. Verified by a good old pull test. Usually the plastic melts or catches fire before the solder takes which makes the insulation worthless. I ended still heat shrinking them. I hope it doesn't cause issues because I'm using this on my race car Nissan R33 and I was looking for neat and reliable way of connecting wires but like I said overall I wouldn't use it again. Next time though I'll use the solder iron clamp on it. Good luck. always PULL TEST!
