I was looking for a Christmas stocking holder for my 3-1/2" mantle. This fits perfectly and I believe it won't slip. The true test will come soon when the stocking is full and heavy. I'll try and remember to come back and update my review.

These are nice and slim, which is necessary for the style of mantel I have. That said, they are difficult to fasten so tightly to preventing slipping without stripping out the screws. I’ve got them at a sweet spot where they won’t fall, but I will not be able to fill these stockings with anything or they will fall off. Effective for decorative purposes, I suppose.

These stocking holders did the job, but in no way looked good doing it haha. BUT - they are exactly as advertised. Very simple, utilitarian stocking holders to get the job done. Removed a star because they definitely don’t feel like they are worth $17. It’s a very simple design and the quality isn’t especially nice, nor are they heavy weight or very sturdy.

These holders truly lock onto a shelf so even a very full stocking will hang securely. I tried a set of the flat weighted ones but they tipped right over and off the mantle when the stockings were stuffed. These hangers solve that problem, and the protective pads ensure they wont damage your mantle or shelf. My only real complaint is that so much of the hanger is exposed and they are a bit unsightly. My solution was to add fluffy bows near the top of the hanger, right near the top-plate to obscure them. Now the stockings are the focus, not the hangers. I measured the thickness of our mantle before choosing these and they work perfectly. You’ll want to consider the length of these hangers as well because your stockings will hang that much lower from your mantle. But we dont use our (ancient) fireplace so there was no danger in our case. I recommend these hangers if you know your stockings will get loaded and aren’t just for display. Just be ready to add something festive to mask the securing mechanism so your stockings get the attention they deserve. Five stars for functionality and ease of use, with the caveat that they aren’t pretty.
