A beautiful box set for fans of Capaldi's magnificent Doctor.
A beautiful box set for fans of Capaldi's magnificent Doctor.Honestly, I prefer the format of the season sets, which fit on a shelf and are easier to, say, bring to a friend's house. I would have preferred this set to be a shelf-sized box containing the individual season sets, but for what it is, it is nicely executed. What you can't see in photos is that the cover has glossy highlights on all of the individual gears and portraits. Even though it's cardboard, it really has the look of some metallic show prop. Very nice.As for the content, Peter Capaldi is my favorite Doctor (and yes, I've seen ALL of them). Characteristically for this show, it takes a while for the new era to find its footing—honestly, I feel like the first half of season 8 is pretty skip-worthy—but the episodes starting with Kill the Moon are absolutely on fire. Unfortunately, many people had stopped watching by that point, but I've won a few fans back by telling them to just start with Kill the Moon. One gripe (not really)—this set purports to contain every single Capaldi episode (even including the season 3 episode where Capaldi guest-starred in a non-Doctor role!), but if they were being SUPER generous, they would also have included the special The Day of the Doctor, in which Capaldi's "attack eyebrows" made a one-second-long appearance. They even mention it on the box copy! Oh, well.

LAUGH HARD! RUN FAST! BE KIND! Peter Capaldi... We Let You Go...
What a run, Since he was announced in 2013, I had an idea that Peter Capaldi would be a unique incarnation of our favourite Time Lord from Gallifrey. And he never disappointed me. Just watch the opening of The Magicians Apprentice and World Enough and Time... only could the 12th Doctor have Episode Teasers that felt like episode cliffhangers before giving us another at the end...And Heaven Sent... my God.I Live in the UK and bought a multi region blu-ray player just for this set (and the Matt Smith Era, now that this set has impressed me this much. It's always sad to say goodbye to an actor who you feel has been so good in this role for years, and the Christmas special/regeneration story isn't this grand epic struggle, but a personal story of the Doctors Fears and Self-Loathing that will not only redeem him, but safe the life of someone very important to His time stream..."The Complete Peter Capaldi Years" is a worthwhile purchase for fans of Doctor Who and Peter Capaldi.(Note: The Disc Pages for the First 3 Discs of Series 8 are all there, at the time of writing this review, I have been watching series 8 Disc 2.)

Unexpected treat
Once upon a time I was a high school student in the 1960s and would come home and watch the three channels that were available on TV. DR Who was available in the mid 60s and was pretty awful. The special effects were actually worse than Star Trek. That was my intro to DR Who. I am a Freak-a-zoid for Science fiction though and loved Lost, Star Trek, Star Wars, Alien (especially Prometheus) the X-Files and especially Fringe. The thing that caused me to buy this collection was how high it was rated by other geeks. I have just watched the 7th episode and am on-board. I love the characters and the stories. The blu-ray is awesome in its clarity and the story telling is super good. I am eyeing some earlier stuff but am not interested unless it is high res and will fill my 65 inch Samsung screen. I am 4K able but that is a scam.

"He struggles to create a version of himself that humans find easy to be around." - Peter Capaldi
Great presentation of the Twelth Doctor - a man Mr. Capaldi left in fine fashion in the best passsing of the baton in series history. Let's see what the great actor had to say of the role:"First and foremost, he’s not human. So I think he struggles to create a version of himself that humans find easy to be around. He’s always trying to save the universe, so if he upsets someone, that has to come with the territory. But then later on, he probably gets a bit worried and wishes he could go back and say, “I’m sorry I upset you.” I like when he’s strange."—Peter CapaldiAnd I love that statement - for its sentiment. Always be kind. Enjoy this. I look forward to the Thirteenth Doctor's first collection. But Thirteen is my lucky number.

"Doctor Who: The Complete Peter Capaldi Years" boxset review
I own all the individual season sets, but just had to get this since I'm a fan of Capaldi's Doctor. And this was very much worth it, since this is a very gorgeous looking boxset! It's a 'book styled' set, where each 'page' will hold a Blu Ray disc(and these are easy to take out). This looks to be a US/Canada exclusive release, and is bluray only(no dvd version). Now, the discs have all the previously released extra content(nothing is omitted) but this complete box set does actually has a brand new BONUS DISC!It has the following:• The Fires of Pompeii (yes, the full 10th Doctor era episode where Capaldi shows up in a non-Doctor role!)• Series Eight Deleted Scenes (yessssss!!!!)• Doctor Who 2017 San Diego Comic Con Panel• The Finale Concert• The End of an Era

Works also on European Reg2 Players!
I bought this (being a European and only having a Reg2 player) to play it on an external Drive on my computer because only the software regulates the codes there. Anyway... For fun I put the disc into my TV Bluray Player and it worked. My LG player playes without any problems those discs. I was really stunned because it says explicitly that it is only for USA/Canada players.I can't guarantee this foe everyone but as this set us only available in US I think it is worth mentioning because its a brilliant collectors box set! What definitely will work is the solution with the external drive at a computer or laptop.

"Doctor Mysterio!"

Great addition to my collection
This is a beautiful collection that I will display. Peter Capaldi, when he first started seemed like a step away from the Doctor I have know and loved but after series 8 he became one of my favorites. I am happy to have the complete Peter Capaldi years in my collection, It is beautiful and sturdy with all the extras from the original collections as well as some new content including the final concert. If you are a Doctor Who fan who likes to display their collection like me or just want to have everything, this is the collection for you not to mention its cheaper then buying all the series independently. If being able to store everything lined up on a shelf and you don't care about the new content then you may want to buy the individual series.

Doctor, I let you go.
Genuinely gorgeous, looks absolutely grand on my shelf. Peter Capaldi shone as the Doctor throughout his tenure, and it was tremendously difficult to let him go at the finale of Twice Upon a Time. It’s really nice to own all three of his seasons on Blu Ray, however it’s odd they didn’t include the pilot episode of Class because it was the only appearance he gave in 2016 outside of the Return of Doctor Mysterio... (PS totally stoked for Jodie Whittaker’s 13th Doctor, hopefully she’s every bit as good as Peter.)

Fantastic. A already had everything except Series 10 and ...
Fantastic. A already had everything except Series 10 and one Special. But those two combined was the same cost as this set. So now I can give my extras disc to a friend, and have a complete collection for Capaldi. There are lots of interesting bonus materials I had not previously seen, and the video quality is just as good as the individual series.
