Kudos to its durability!With a toddler fascinated by stars, the moon, and a certain cartoon space movie, I wanted something to add flair to her room. Once plugged in, the cosmic display left her in absolute awe. The mesmerizing nebula changes and expansive laser coverage on walls and ceiling were a hit. Plus, the magnetic head, when detached, boasts a sturdy cable with protective features. The arms move up and down as well.I highly recommend this product, whether you have a little one enchanted by space or if your inner child craves a movie night upgrade with ambient cool lights.I've attached photos of the item as received and tested. I love the features of the night light! The remote control gives you the option to make changes from across the room. The remote allows you to control the nebula and the stars individually. The projector perfectly projects onto the ceilings and walls to make you feel like you are in outer space. The magnetic helmet gives you the option to easily shift the projection to different areas of the room.

Cool night light

The nebula projection is my favorite part of this. The green star points, meh... I also had the impression that this was run off a battery. Instead, you have to run it off a USB cord. The feet don't want to stay in the holder so anytime you want to adjust the direction of the projection you need to double check the feet are still in their right place as it will tip over (sometimes fast, sometimes slow) Overall, it is decent and makes a cool nebula display. I can recommend this product with reservation.

I am an adult with no kids but got the astronaut star projector because I saw what it could do and thought for the price this thing was pretty cool. The one I got has a black body with a gold metallic face shield. Being black I think it does not stick out as much in the dark room as the white astronaut body. Being a beautiful decoration may be a little reaching.First the pluses –This thing is pretty cool at night. The pictures and projection examples in the description are pretty accurate. I think any kid will absolutely love it. It is colorful and bright. The green laser star dots are really bright. So this will serve as a night light. The nebula function is pretty neat. The nebula “folds” and spins on the ceiling. You can adjust the colors, brightness, and spin speed, even stopping the spin. You can mix the three colors; red, green, and blue and one nebula setting has the colors fade through the mix of the three. The stars are fixed but have settings for fade speed, brightness, and can be set on, or off. The projector head can be fully adjusted; it has a remote, and a timer to turn off in 45 or 90 minutes.My negatives –First, this thing is really bright. There are brightness settings but not enough and not available all the time – let me explain. The stars can fade in and out (breathing), be on, or off. When set to “breathing”, the brightness function does not work. The green stars go from full brightness to off and back to full brightness. When at full you can almost read. Only when the stars are set to no fade does the brightness setting work. The brightness setting has three levels plus off. The lowest on level is still pretty bright.The nebula options for color and spin are actually pretty good and look nice but again still bright. Even though there are 5 levels of brightness, at the lowest 20%, it is still too bright for me. One note, when the nebula is set to the fade through colors mix, the brightness function again does not work.Since this projector has to be plugged it to a USB power adapter to function, a USB adapter should have been included. It’s not like a product that is rechargeable and you don’t need the power adapter all the time.The astronaut star projector needs to be low as possible in the room to give a better performance. If it is too close to the projected ceiling, you will quickly notice the star grid is uniform, square, and setup in lines with bright and dim stars. The nebula will also be too small. So the farther the projection distance, the better the visual performance will be. This can become a problem for kids who do not know better. The green laser is dangerous if it projects into a person’s eyes.My last negative, the remote/projector has no actual feedback. The projector has no audio beeps or receiving LED. While pressing a function button, the remote will blink so you know it is transmitting but you don’t know if the projector received the command. Holding down a remote key will not progress through the settings. You have to press the button step by step to change the levels. This gets confusing when the current setting has no brightness settings. I could not easily determine if the sleep timer was off, set to 45 or 90 minutes. There is a little LED on the back of the projector so if you get up and turn the projector around you will be able to see if the timer mode is on.So overall a great product for a kid and more of a toy. For an adult who is drifting off to sleep, I think it is too bright.

The media could not be loaded.  This lighting effect is totally amazing, looks like the real universe and stars. Very bright, very pretty, and blends into the room perfectly. You can have it turn off with the timer. He's really cute too look at even when not in use. Great birthday and kid room gift.

Very small nebula. No variations for the stars. Illuminates a very small area. Wish I spent the extra money on the original and not this knock off.
