The most affordable siphon brewer on Amazon
I'll start by saying this is a steal, a siphon brewer + butane stove, extra cloth filters, etc all for ~$50 (a butane stove can run for $50 on its own).My only issues with it is that the glass is very fragile, the first one arrived with the top beaker cracked while the replacement the bottom beaker cracked while making a cup. That and clean up afterwards is a bit of a chore, not awful but the cloth filter holds a lot of the grounds on it after you dump the excess. Also you need to soak it in something you can drain or just run it under the sink and accept coffee grounds going into the disposal. There's a bit of a learning curve when using a Siphon brewer, getting the right grind on your coffee grounds is important as too coarse and they won't steep and too fine and they won't let the water travel back to the lower beaker. Medium-fine is around the sweet spot, a bit finer than what you use for pour over but not expresso fine. Once you get the right amount of grounds at the proper size (around 4-5 table spoons for 600ml in this unit) the coffee comes out tasting amazing. A full bodied cup of coffee with low acidity and not a lot of bitterness. The coffee it brews is delicious and I can see why it's considered one of the best ways to brew a cup of coffee.I would not recommend a siphon brewer for someone with just a passing interest in coffee or someone that just grabs a coffee at a cafe to get their morning started. It's very hands on and if you heat up water in a kettle and add it to the bottom beaker rather than using the stove to boil it's a fairly fast brew. But for coffee enthusiasts that enjoy this kind of stuff the coffee you get is definitely worth the effort.

Included burner doesn’t last long enough.
The syphon seems to be pretty good quality, but the included burner doesn’t hold enough fuel to brew coffee.

Fun and brews great coffee - But quality of glass not great
The media could not be loaded. ** Update **Although I think the brewer is unique and produces great coffee (as I mentioned previously, below) I need to point out an unfortunate circumstance - the quality of the glass is not great, it cracks easily. I received a first unit that arrived with a chipped neck in the glassware. The entire unit was quickly replaced by Amazon. I received a second unit that I reviewed below - it worked well the first time but the second time I used it, the lower glass globe developed a crack as the water was boiling. It's important to never apply direct heat to the glass if it is dry, but in my case it was still 1/3 full and had not yet finished bubbling into the upper chamber. These two events lead me to believe the quality of the glass used is not very good or they designed it too thin. I reached out to the vendor but they are unable to help me and they don't even have replacement glassware available. So now I'm stuck with half of a brewing system that is unusable. Not a great experience. I'm quite disappointed :(****This is a very nice siphon coffee maker. The quality of the components are very good and everything fits together and works great. The glassware is strong (although you still need to be careful with it because it is glass, after all) and the burner is an excellent upgrade. It runs on butane and produces an excellent flame that quickly gets the water up to a boil. All the necessary accessories are included, so you have everything you need to get started right out of the box.The coffee it produces is really "clean" - not bitter, burned, or sour in any way. And I'm surprised at how well the simple cloth filter keeps virtually all the grounds out of the finished coffee. The final cup reminds me of a nice pour-over.The brewing process is actually not complicated or time-consuming - and it is very impressive looking. Very high school chemistry lab! But clean up is more of a chore than other brewing methods and you need to be careful handling the glassware - I'm so nervous about leaving it out to dry and somebody knocking things over and breaking it. Aside from that, siphon coffee tastes great and is not difficult to make - just be careful with the glassware.

Great coffee
This machine makes great coffee. You should use a medium fine grind, and the amount of coffee depends on how intense you would like it. My measure for this method is 12g of coffee for every 100 mL of water. For me it was 5 stars except that you have to buy something else to be able to use it, and wasn't aware of it until I received it, remember that if you buy this you should have already the propane gas can so that you can use immediately. Another thing that you should be aware of is that you need to put really hot water, almost boiling because burner can't hold enough gas and sometimes I have needed to charge it twice because the water is not hot enough.

Fun way of brewing your exquisite cup of joe!!
The sheer theatrics of watching the heated water rise upwards into the upper chamber and the brewed coffee flowing back into the lower chamber. It produces the most vibrant cup with delicate flavors of the coffee.I was initially worried about the glassware arriving broken but I’m happy to report that my set arrived fine and dandy.I usually use my Nespresso machine when I’m in a rush. But on chill days or when I’ve guests over, I’ll definitely be pulling this out.If you're a coffee lover looking to elevate your home brewing game, I highly recommend the Loeff & Lee Siphon Coffee Maker. It's a perfect blend of art and science, delivering exceptional coffee every single time. Worth every penny!
