Don't expect the results of a hotter torch like propane! A little too bulky and awkward for small board soldering. It can handle this though. Haven't used it to sweat copper pipe. but it's OK for lighting charcoal(if you don't mind wasting fuel!)

Runs out of fuel real fast only issue

This is a very nice kit that provides everything you need in a butane torch combined with four different soldering tips, a heated air attachment (think mini heat gun), and a heat deflector for use on heat shrink tubing. The kit comes in a nice plastic case that has a removable fitted insert for all the bits and pieces. The case doesn't have a handle, which makes it less easy to carry, but it does a wonderful job of organizing and protecting the tools. When I first opened the case, I thought one of the soldering tips was missing, but it was actually stuck into the foam in the case lid. The base\stand can act as a rest for the torch, but you can also just stand it up with the base installed, so I'm not sure how useful that is.The torch seems solid and fits my hand comfortably. The soldering tips are small, but work well, and they even include a pretty large tube of solder and a sponge to keep the tips clean. With the hot air attachment installed, which is required for using the soldering tips or the deflector, the torch whistles for a second when you first light it. The heat is pretty much instant, so it makes quick work of soldering and applying heat shrink tubing.There is a sight glass that shows how much butane is left. Note that the torch will be full before the sight glass shows full - when butane starts spurting out, stop filling. When you turn the torch upright, the sight glass should show full.The flame is adjustable, but the jumbo torch provides more adjustability than the pinpoint torch. I found the pinpoint torch shuts off if you adjust the knob below about 50% open.Overall, I'm very pleased with this little torch kit. It will be handy around the house for quick repairs and for any soldering jobs where I either don't have electric service or don't feel like dealing with a plug-in soldering iron.

The torch works very well

This butane torch/soldering iron set up is great. Having 2 torch cores provides different levels of BTU application from a small tight flame to a wide flame.The different soldering, cutting and heating tips and the adjustable directional head makes this very versitile. It also comes with a detachable base that holds the torch upright when in use.I have a smaller pen style butane soldering iron but it doesnt have the heat range that this one does. This torch has much more heat & power than my small one but less than a typical plumbing torch.It was easy to fill and it has plenty of butane capacity.It comes with a nice well organized hard case wich also includes solder and a tip cleaning sponge.Considering the features and versitility of this torch and all of its accessories in a well organized hard case, this is now my "go to" torch.

I got this to do some jewelry and maybe solder a few things. So far, I'm impressed with the amount of accessories it comes with. I think it would even make a great kitchen torch too with the blowtorch attachments. It also has a heat deflector for heat shrink and a few solder tips. I like the adjustable angle and that it's cordless. It's not great for larger jobs, probably, but it's nice for small jobs. With the added blow torch, it would be useful for minor bathroom repairs and such.It's easy to fill up with butane and it seems to last a long enough time (90 minutes in solder mode, 40 minutes in blow torch mode). I like the carrying case to keep everything together. It makes a useful addition to your home improvement inventory.

This thing definitely takes some getting used to. I havent been able to master it YET. (It definitely take practice). But it definitely comes in handy & it will make the job easier if this is the tool needed for the job. I love to have as many tools as possible because you never know what you may need. So overall I do like having it here but its definitely a beast to operate properly.

Versatile butane torch that has many attachments to perform many heat gun and soldering tasks in an all in one kit. Comes in a hard shell case for protection. Im always shrinking heat shrink connectors and soldering. This kit allows me to do all of those tasks and more. Has a good capacity for fuel to do many tasks interrupted and puts out a lot of heat to do the job easily.
