I live in the north of England, where it's pretty cool in the kitchen all year round and I generally leave butter outside the fridge, apart from the exceptions when we get really hot days/weeks and then it goes in the fridge. I often find I can spread butter directly on toast no problem, but it will tear soft bread, although my microwave has a neat 'melt' function which softens butter without turning it into a yellow puddle of oil!I thought I'd give this a go, just for the novelty of it. I do almost exclusively eat butter on all my bread/toast so it's worth trying. The item arrived very well packed, It's a nice white marble effect, but mostly white with little marbling. The item's hefty and has some weight. A standard pat of butter is 250g in the UK, although they have been slyly reducing this to 225g & 220g while selling for the same price. I could fit 2/3 of a standard 250g pat by packing it in tight, (which is necessary for the crock to work). Once it was filled with butter and in the kitchen on the worktop it was nowhere near soft enough to spread directly on bread without tearing it. It was far harder than butter just left out of the fridge in my kitchen, so I didn't really see the point in it. To be honest my butter is never left around in the dish long enough to go off anyhow, so I returned it and just keep the butter in the kitchen. I can't see the point of it, perhaps it works better in colder climates?This was one of the cheaper ones too, the Butter Bell ones cost between £30 - £40 and have a smaller capacity, so for me pretty useless and not recommend despite the novel idea.

This was given as a gift to someone who was still eating margarine (yuck)! I'm happy to say that she was THRILLED with this gift, and is now enjoying yummy, creamy BUTTER for all of her needs!! THANK YOU!!

It's really nice butter bell. The only thing I don't like is, it only fits around 200g so if you buy 250 g butter, the whole butter will not fit.

It’s a bit bulky but looks great and does a good job of keeping butter fresh.

Ich habe am 2.3.24 dieses gute Stück bestellt und es wurde einige Tage später zugestellt. Am Versandpaket waren keinerlei Schäden zu erkennen und war unversehrt. Jedoch war der Artikel defekt und ist nicht zu gebrauchen. Daraufhin schrieb ich dem Verkäufer mehrere Male und das auch in zwei verschiedenen Sprachen aber bis jz (18.3.24) kam keine Antwort…Am 8.4. haben sie sich bei mir gemeldet und es erfolgt eine Rückerstattung.
