Professional sound, Budget friendly!
What a fantastic offering from MelonAudio! Once again my expectation have been exceeded by such an incredible microphone for such an affordable price point. I put this thing through its paces in the studio doing some professional recordings after I realized what this MA-87 was capable of delivering and im super impressed!Keep in mind, your results may vary based on your knowledge of music post production if thats your intended use. For people just looking for a first mic to get into music covers or making videos or possibly even a podcast? The quality of the sound this delivers straight out of the box with no mixing or EQ is unparalleled to most any other mic in this price point. It has a great low noise floor, which for any entry recording purposes requires no cleanup work, but is easily hidden in post production for more experienced music producers. Good sturdy build quality, a fantastic metal shockmount, and XLR cable among other accessories you may need for future projects.Fantastic Buy! 10/10

Weird buzzing noise + Electrical current when I touch the outside (of the mic)
Hello, I've bought this microphone like 1 week ago, and, I guess the sound quality is pretty good, but:Idk why, there is a buzzing sound coming sometimes out of nowhere that SOMETIMES can be fixed by touching the microphone a certain (idk, seems like electricity stuff), but even this solution isn't working all of the time. So I'd like help from Amazon or Melon Audio Support to know if the problem stems from the model itself, or MY product that got sent to me.EDIT: I've found out that there is an electrical current that is even on THE OUTSIDE OF THE MIC!!!Like, I tried to touch the mic with a radiator at the same time and felt electrical current going through my radiator-side fingers!!! I decided to refund it, really disappointed in this microphone that seemed so good...

Sounds as good as mics costing several times the price.
I own several condenser mics and this one has the best sound overall, even when compared to a mic costing twice as much. I have seen comparisons on line with mics costing 4 times a much, and I believe they are accurate. This is an exceptionally fine mic at the price, and at any price. This would be a 5 star review, except that the shock mount that came with it is shockingly cheap looking and feeling. Brittle plastic. It does work, but I would not want to say for how long. And the mic itself had a flaw in the finish. Not bad enough to return it considering the sound…but still there. Overall I am very satisfied and even somewhat impressed.

MA87 Microphone Capsule Not Mounted In Saddle - Damaged on Arrival
MA87 microphone unboxed and the capsule was not mounted to the saddle. The capsule was raddling around in the basket head. Holding the microphone up to the light, I could see the saddle through the mesh in the basket head. The saddle looked damaged. Cannot inspect without taking microphone apart. Without taking mic apart, plugged into a +48 phantom power source, the mic responded with noise, static and distortion. The capsule positive and negative lead wires may be damaged crossed or the capsule may be damaged. I am returning/exchanging the Melon Audio MA-87.

Great warm and clean sound
Very much like a U87. Be sure to warm it up at least 10 minutes before using

This mic is just impressive!
Just received, just tested on my voice. Using my Zoom H5 as audio interface the sound is clear and bright, noise level is below -70dB in my room which is not perfect. I love it!
