I went ahead and used the 14g needle, because the ring didn’t fit in the end of the 16 to follow through after pierced. The 16g, 10mm hoop was perfect too. I almost went with an 8mm diameter, but glad I didn’t. I’ve only pierced my ear lobes, and this took minimal effort to do… almost painless (the clamps were more pain than the needle ever thought about) The needle was scarier to look at than the piercing actually was to do. Pain scale, I would call this a 2. I watched YouTube videos for a few days before committing. Super glad I chose to do this myself instead of going to a tattoo shop and paying 50 to 100 bucks
