Ok, while good in concept, not very practical. Yes it saves space vs. getting 5lb increments from 3lbs-44lbs, but difficult to use when you put them on the base rack the wrong way. Yes that's a minor frustration, not a big deal and would be worth a 4 star review at worst if that was the only issue. But it's not.The larger issue is its a safety issue unless you work out in steel toed boots. I was doing 34lb curls, and one of the 5lb weights slipped off and landed right next to my toes. Before you think I didn't check to see if it was secured, you are wrong as this was on my 8th or 9th rep. Had it fell an inch closer I definitely would have a fractured toe or foot. The only reason this is a 2 star and not a one star is no actual injury.So I will be more careful going forward. And if I had the choice, I would not buy this again, but either save up for a dumbbell rack or go to the gym. That being said, I just need to pick up a couple extra shifts at work, and I'll just trash these and buy that rack. Yes your health is the most important thing you have control over, but not at the expense of safety.

I have been using these for about a month now. Excellent quality and easy to change weights. I have found that if the weight does not turn when placed back in the tray it's always 1 of these 2 things that clears it up. One - I put the left back onto the right (or vice versa) - or Two I put them backwards (front of dumbell vs back of dumbell). A simple flip and the weights immediately turn again. I got these with a $50 coupon so it was less than $100 for the set. But they are excellent quality and would buy again if needed similar products from this company

These dumbells are great for me when it comes to squats and lateral lunges. It works perfectly when I work on a front dumbbell squat drop set, where I start the set with 22lbs for 10 reps, and then quickly switch to 12lbs for another 10 reps. The option to be able to use it as a 3lbs dumbbell allows me to do many shoulder workouts as well. I'm so glad all of these workouts can be performed through this one pair of dumbbells. We are living in a very convenient world 🙂.

Easy-to-use and to store

Love this weight set but one of the dumbbells is stuck on 3 pounds and we only used a couple times. Whats the fix?

These Altler dumbbells are about the best value we could find in adjustable weights. The construction is mostly plastic but solid. Changing weight amounts is easy and reliable. Included bases store dumbbells and unused weights securely.Overall, a great system. Hope we can find them again when we move up to the next weight level!
