ANOTHER GREAT BOOK FROM LOUIS FERRANTE!!!!
After reading Louis Ferrante's book Unlocked, I have been eagerly awaiting another book from him. I actually pre-ordered the book a couple of months ago and couldn't wait to get it. The day I got it I couldn't start reading it fast enough. As Mr. Ferrante did in his first book, he wrote in such an amazing way that I couldn't put the book down. It is one of those books where you are reading it at night and it's getting later and later, and after you finish a chapter you tell yourself just one more chapter and I'll go to sleep. Of course this doesn't happen and you will find yourself reading on and on.Mr. Ferrante does an excellent job of explaining how the legitimate businessman can use teachings of the mafia. It's actually quite amazing because before I read it, I couldn't imagine how it would be possible for the legitimate businessman could learn, and use anything from the mafia to help run a legitimate business.I can tell you that I run a medium to large size company and already I have used quite a few of Mr. Ferrante's "lessons", and I have noticed quite a difference in how my employees act and see things when I present things to them in a different manner that I learned from this book. One thing that should be mentioned. Even if you work for someone else and "you" are not running the business this book is still a must read. I say this because most of the lessons being taught can be used in your life. These lessons are life lessons and will help you to live a better and more fulfilling life. Mr. Ferrante has a way with his writing style to really get through to you and make you understand things by using stories to put things in perspective.I know this book is brand new, but I am already eagerly awaiting for another book. Mr, Ferrante's writing style speaks for itself. You will not be disappointed with this book or his first book Unlocked. In my opinion this is a must read book. I have already ordered 10 more copies to pass out to friends and family. Don't miss out on this one. Both of his books are truely an amazing read, and the style of writing will keep you wanting more. Plus...it doesn't hurt that you will actually learn things while reading it, and be able to better yourself. Mr. ferrante, if you read this, I am a fan, and can't wait to see what else you have In your mind. If you are reading this review for the purpose on whether or not to buy this book....you can stop here. STOP READING THESE REVIEWS ALREADY AND BUY THIS BOOK....you won't be disappointed.Mike from RI

The Four People Who Need This Book
I was first introduced to Louis Ferrante's writing thanks to a recent daily email alert from The Startup Daily. Ever since first reading Mario Puzo's The Godfather and The Sicilian in high school and college respectively, I've been intrigued by the structural organization and interactive logistics of the collective known as The Mob. My biggest "a-ha" moment back then was how very much like legitimate businesses and even religious hierarchies this set-up is. But Lou's story isn't just a boastful written swagger of "look what I done." It's a thoughtful reflection of what traditionally has and has not worked in the business dealings of the admittedly highly successful underworld, and it's an elegant display of the rewards of reading - taking one young man from the realm of Barely Functionally Literate to Gifted Writer of Prose.I've often said that the worst thing that can happen to a writer is nothing. Many of us can spend years in school or retreats trying to fine-tune our writing craft and worry that we will never really have anything to say. Louis Ferrante has seen and done plenty - enough to burn up KBs on his word processors for years to come. He has also developed a unique voice that is as much a pleasure to read for its style as its content. The holidays are approaching at this writing, but regardless of the time of year, here are four types of people who need to buy or be gifted this book:1. The business entrepreneur who has a great idea but needs to know the real meat of successful business practices and communications, and not just the jargon-heavy white papers2. The teacher, librarian, or law enforcement professional who despairs that the work they do day in and day out might never really have an impact or make a difference in a life3. The writer who's afraid that because they lack the proper academic credentials that they have nothing of value to offer to the reading world, and4. The workaday employee who wants to know what really matters at their job, what behaviors to enhance or focus on, and which ones to avoid (lest they fall with the arrogance of the mighty). It's very likely the reader will get no further than halfway through this book before wanting to know more about its author's background in Unlocked: The Life and Crimes of a Mafia Insider.Be aware that Ferrante's voice is very no-nonsense and he does drop the F-bomb from time to time. As a librarian, I had no problem recommending it to a manager in my field whom I knew would embrace its insights with an open mind, but do know the sensitivity of your audience if gifting it. Otherwise, sit back and enjoyed the deliciously organized and served nuggets of wisdom and experience in a rich sauce of humor with a side of historical literary quotes.

Plenty of life lessons here.
This book is all about street smarts that cannot be learnt in a classroom. Experience is another name for having your arse kicked or having your head handed to you on a platter. Being in the mob meant that you were a survivor and an expert at street smarts and had accumulated a wealth of life experiences by the time you were in your fifties. This wonderful book shares these nuggets of wisdom with you. I have always admired the Mafia and it’s men for their intellect and business savvy and adventurous life. You too can learn a lot from this book.

Funny and informative
A witty book which contains real life-lessons inspired by the mafia. The author shares many anecdotes from his Mafia days and produces a number of lessons to use in business life. I really like how the author talks about illegitimate techniques used but then relates these to actual techniques which could be used in the real world.
