Good budget built
I saw videos on YouTube and saw all the negative things about it but most of it can be fixed, modded, or upgraded so I knew what I was getting myself into. When I received it I noticed the the rear right wheel was crooked, I am pretty sure it is a tire defect so I swapped it the spare tire. Besides that everything was fine. Took it out for a test drive with my brother’s traxxas trx4 and it did better than I expected and survived multiple beating.Steering is terrible but with a better servo and servo horn it gives a little bit more angle than stock. Besides that it’s good for a project car or budget build.

Going fast is a lot of fun but crawling is a blast too!
I’ve always liked the high speed road cars/trucks and the fast, high flying bashers. That being said I decided I’d give the crawling trucks a go. I was shocked at how much fun it is. My kids and I are having a blast taking turns up and over different obstacles. Which is nice because all of my other RCs are way to fast for children to operate. The redcat Everest gen 7 pro is an all around solid truck! Comes with a lot of upgrades (aluminum shocks, metal suspension linkage, great stock tires on true bead lock rims, roll cage to support the body, inner fender wells etc) not really found on the competitors RTRs that are slightly more expensive. It’s a ton of fun to crawl up and over obstacles and to create new challenges. The only 2 drawbacks are the rather large diff housings and the very limited steering angle. But the steering angle is easily increased by removing the stops on the steering knuckles. As long as you’re expecting a crawler/trail truck and not a high speed basher you’ll be pretty happy and impressed with this truck.I’m not sure how the other reviews have had so many breakages. I’ve been pretty tough on mine. It’s been through several roll overs, back flips, falls and hang ups as it’s fallen and it’s held up extremely well. Nothing has broke yet. Like anything else if you don’t use it correctly or over abuse it, parts are going to break. I’m sure I’ll take it a little too far and break something in the near future. That’s only because it’s a very capable truck and I’m sure I’ll get over confident in my abilities and wreck something. That’s to be expected with any hobby grade rc.All in all I’m very happy with the truck and feel it’s a great entry level crawler.Update 4-7-19: I’m still very impressed with this truck. Have done a few minor cosmetic upgrades (light kit, light bar, and aluminum bead locks) and run it at least twice a week. The factory servo is pretty weak but still hasn’t went up in smoke even though it will stall out when trying to push the truck with the steering. Have a better servo on hand but still waiting for the factory one to crap out, even though it’s pretty slow and weak, it is still working.Again only real downsides are the limited steering angle and the large differential housings. But if you choose your lines well they really aren’t that big of a drawback.Just wished I’d have waited until the gen8 came out because now the gen7 pro I bought has dropped in price by $30. Oh well, I’m happy with what I got for what I paid for so it’s definitely well worth it’s new price tag.

Great beginner RC car!
I wanted to get my daughter to something a little more advanced from the 20 dollar toy store variety so we started off with this Redcat Everest Pro. Fast enough for her to learn on and get used to the trigger style remote. The only complaint I had was the steering servo can never be truly centered on ours and we had to adjust the steering trim offset to keep the steering wheel straight. We removed the steering link adjustment on the servo several times to center it out but was unable to do so. Would also recommend replacing that plastic piece for an aluminum 25 tooth one. The original broke after my daughter ran it head on into a tree.

Great beginner rock crawler
I bought this as a Christmas gift for one of my sons. I personally have a HPI Venture 1/10th scale and this Redcat Everest is on par if not better than my HPI at nearly half the price. Both vehicles are out of box, not modified. The Everest has higher ground clearance but is more stable. The tires grab and go, where the stock tires on my HPI would lose traction and dig. The accessories are cheap molded plastic and not made to be functional, but at this price who cares. The hinged body is as much an annoyance as it is helpful. My biggest and only complaint is the skeleton the put under the body doesn't allow hardly any flex when the vehicle is rolled. My son knocked a hole in the body first time out, where my HPI with its conventional 4 post body mounts let's the body flex and has never broken.

Good beginner crawler.
Took it out for the first time for a crawl with the RC club I'm in. Was driving to the trail, and the servo screw fell out. Of course we couldn't find it in the dirt. Didn't even make it to the first climb, had to turn around and go home. Very embarrassing. Double check all the screws right out of the box.

Excellent for the price easily modded.
I took off all the fender flares that hang up on all the terrain, trimmed the front bumper added the red side panel stickers it looks much better.

Good overall
Good overall but poor steering range and poor steering design. Still good value for the price.
