ASTOUNDING!!!
This is hands down, without a doubt, the BEST shaver I have ever used! After reading the reviews about how close and smooth a shave this thing offers, I will admit I was skeptical at first, but also super excited to try it out! It was estimated to be delivered the very next day, and I impatiently waited for it, like a little kid waiting for their new toy. When it finally arrived, I happily tore open the box and set everything up.When I used it for the first time ever, I was immediately impressed with how easily it would glide over my skin, and how comfortable and painless it was to use, even on the highest setting! Speaking of which, there are three comfort settings; Comfort, Dynamic, and Efficiency. Comfort is supposed to be best for sensitive skin, while Efficiency has the most power and the quickest, smoothest shave. However, I have sensitive skin myself, and the Efficiency setting is no issue for me!The closeness of the shave from this electric shaver surprised me a great deal. What they are saying in the reviews is true! Philips Norelco’s 0.00mm closeness claim definitely checks out! I was able to achieve BBS smooth skin with just my FIRST SHAVE, having NEVER used a rotary shaver before! This thing really does shave as close as (maybe even closer than) a manual razor! The power of the motor is unbelievable for how quiet it is. It’s one of the quietest electric shavers I’ve ever used, yet when you turn it on, you can literally feel the torque in your hand as it starts up.The shaver is designed for use on your face and neck, yet I had no issues with shaving other parts of my body. I have used this thing on my arms and my legs, and was able to achieve the same level of BBS smoothness, with NO irritation, NO discomfort, and NO redness! You do need to be a bit patient if you want a SUPER smooth shave, but it’s still much faster than shaving with a razor! So I can confidently say this thing is safe to use on your body, too! I’m not sure if I’d be comfortable with using it on more… intimate areas, though. There are a few different accessories available for this razor, and I must say I recommend getting the bundle that comes with all of them (I purchased the Space Grade shaver, which has a nice blue color). The Qi charging pad works as you would expect, and the shaver sits nicely on it, the top part resting in a small dock. The nose and precision trimmer attachments are sufficient. Not great, but not bad either. You are required to remove the shaver head in order to use the attachments. The Quick Clean Pod functions as the name would suggest; you place the head of the shaver in it and it thoroughly cleans it in about a minute. The cleaner has a fresh scent and is also lubricated, so your next shave always feels smooth and fresh. The travel case is nice and bulky, easily fitting the shaver along with some accessories.Overall, I would say that I very highly recommend this shaver. You will not be disappointed at all with how smooth and comfortable a shave it offers. It’s also pretty lightweight and smaller than you might think. It’s quite maneuverable! The accessories and cleaning pod are nice to have and I would definitely recommend them as well. The shaver is also IPX7 waterproof, so you can use it in the shower, or wet shave with it if you’d like. I personally prefer to shave dry, as it doesn’t require any shaving cream or anything, is much less messy and time consuming, and still results in a VERY close shave. But of course, to each their own! Find out what works for you, and enjoy BBS smooth skin with every shave!

Skip the blades.
I'm totally happy with this product. As close to a blade as you could wish for.

(Updated 11Jun2021) Same Norelco, works well for me.
I previously used the Norelco 6100 (aka 1150X) for over ten years. It worked well. It was overdue for replacement. I was not good about replacing the blades. It wasn't great getting hair under the nose, but otherwise I was happy with it. I didn't get to comparison shop for it. I forgot my razor on a work trip, and bought what I could find at Target. I have been using Norelco since 1994. This is my fourth one. This is the first time I bought the higher end model. I'm not certain it was worth the extra cost. Then again, I have zero frame of reference on the other models currently available. I haven't used another brand since 1994. I'm sure Phillips is happy to hear that. I didn't want one of the 9700 series, with the cleaning system. I just didn't need something big and bulky on my bathroom counter. Using water to clean it works well for me, like it did with my previous model.Charging: It uses nearly the same charging cord, but not the same. The new model is 15V @340mA versus 15V@300mA in my older model. It would have been nice to have an extra cord from the older model. Maybe they are all 340mA now. It is the same connector. I like the % indicator quite a bit. I never had a useful charge indicator before, on any previous model. The number is useful. It charges quickly as well. It seemed like less than an hour from 10 to 100%. I didn't time it exactly. I did not want the charging pad model. Too big, and unnecessary. I also find them slow to charge electronics like my phone, and it is the same Qi charger that works with a phone. I hated the cradle of my previous model. I'm actually glad to be back with a charging cable. Much smaller, and easier to pack for a trip.Look and Feel: It feels just about the same in hand as my old one, just with a new look. Same weight, same motor, same tools. My 11 year old head(s) fit the new model and work perfectly. I like that it does not need the cradle to charge. Similar to my first two models.Battery Life: I haven't had it long enough. I'll update later.Performance: I've been using it on the medium speed. It does not chew up my face like some YT reviewers experienced. I do not think they were regular Norelco users before trying this model. It does cut hair faster and a little closer. I'm sure some of the "Closer" feel was because it had new blades, but I know my previous model wasn't this effective. Plus, it gets under my nose better. I don't know how, because it seems like the blades are farther from the edge, but it does. It is definitely fast too. Just how much, I don't know, but I can tell there is a difference.Travel Case: The case with this model is perfect. I considered buying something else, because the videos with the Qi charging version made the case look really big for travel. This case is just small enough to hold the razor, charger, and sideburns cutter, with little wasted space. It could be slightly smaller, but it doesn't look significantly larger than the other options I found on Amazon. If you had a previous case you liked, it will probably fit just fine.Other features: I like the travel lockout. I cannot tell how many times I have arrived at my destination, and my battery was dead, because it turned on en route. I like how this works. It didn't say in the manual, but the lock is disabled when you plug it in to charge. I probably don't need this feature now that I have a proper case, but I don't have to worry either way now.Caveats: I do not use shaving cream. I do not use it in the shower, nor do I plan to start.Lessons Learned after 20+ years of dry shaving:1) If you dry shave with it, there are tiny bits of hair left on the face. Immediately wash your face, either in the shower, or at the sink. You will get less pimples by keeping the very small bits of hair out of your pores.2) Do not dry shave when your face or neck is even slightly wet, or sweaty, you will regret it.I had similar lessons with a Remington screen razor before I started using this brand, so it isn't specific to Norelco.Summary:(+) Performance(+) No cradle, and compact charging method(+) Charges fast(+) Travel Lockout(+) Travel Case(+) Water resistant(+) Same compact Size as previously used model(-) Price ($165-$225 would have been more appropriate)TBD:Battery LifeBlade Life11Jun2021 Update:The battery lasts about 35 shaves. 2-3% per shave for me. I have used it in the shower, a couple times. I lather up with soap and get to work. Not my preference, but it works when I get my face wet before I shave. Minor amount of burn the first couple times, but not every time. It seems to be less of a problem. I still prefer dry shaving. The drainage on it after a shower is pretty decent. A simple shake and it empties pretty well. Still using the original blades. I hope to change them yearly.

Any movements the display will turn on. Fast charging.
My old shaver of almost 15 years stopped working. I've then moved over to the Dollar Shave razor a month. I have skin that's sensitive and using a straight blade is easier on my skin than past electrics that can pull and cause pumps or rash on my skin. So I did the half and half electric with blade shaving. But finally got me this shaver and it cuts soooo close like a blade. I def am saving money on having a clean shave again with this electric. Yes it's more expensive but again I know I'm getting my money's worth. Does pretty well under the chin and just have to keep rotating as you shave.Wet or dry does the job. As anything take care of it and it will last.I will say the first order the shaver was brand new in a box but it was in this lock mode that would not show the display or unlock at all. Thanks to Amazon allowing to replace the same order I returned the defective one and the 2nd order came in next day and worked fine.
