Wonderful pillow - has relieved my shoulders and numb wrists and hands
This is a wonderful pillow. I used to wake with numbness in my wrists and fingers because of squashing my shoulders sleeping on my side with an ordinary pillow. That has totally disappeared since I started using the Sissel Plus. I find it most comfortable if I use it at a slight angle with the front corner pulled down a little. It does take a few nights to get used to but it's really worth persevering.

YOUR NECK'S FRIEND
We've used the wonderful Sissel Neck Pillows for 30 years, never go anywhere without them. A HELPFUL HINT: When lying on your side, it's more comfortable if you tilt the pillow down a bit in front and up a bit behind you, to avoid the back of the pillow digging into your shoulder. We were shown this when we first bought the pillows from a Chiropractic College, and it does help people who complain that lying on their sides isn't very comfortable.

Takes some getting used to and took me longer than ...
Takes some getting used to and took me longer than the suggested 2-3 nights but now a month on feels natural. It has definitely eased my neck pain and although not completely gone,I no longer have to take pain killers on waking each morning. Would have given 5* but it's a pity that there are no additional outer shaped covers available to buy separately. This would be beneficial when washing the original. I have tried using an ordinary pillowcase but find it moves about and becomes uncomfortable during sleep.

A must buy!
Great pillow, so comfortable! If you suffer with any neck or shoulder pain you should try this out. Made a massive difference of my waking up in no pain from sleep! Would love to see an option for pillow cases in a variety of colours? Best purchase for myself!

Supportive and very comfortable and eliminates neck and shoulder pain.
Although it takes a bit of getting used to, especially if you don't normally sleep on your side, this pillow is really comfortable, soft but very supportive. The spine is held in a straight line from the head down and this means I have no neck or shoulder pain, enabling a very good night's sleep with no tossing and turning.

Verdict and 'improved' update...
I've had this for exactly 4 weeks, the minimum time to 'get used to it', and my jury is still out.I'll be back with updates if anything changes, but here is my evidence (and opinion) to date...AND HERE'S THE UPDATE: upgrading to 4 out of 5. Seems to be doing OK.BACKGROUNDI am 6ft tall and my age and outlook on life is as a young - that's YOUNG! - 64. (I work in an industry with a lot of youngish, creative people.)My spine is 'crumbling' but only slowly but surely - age-related arthritis, or something like that. I had a spine / cervical (that's your neck!) scan about 4 years ago. About the 3rd and 4th discs from the top are crumbling a bit. Not a biggie yet. I was advised to get a Sissel pillow and a McKenzie System book (from Amazon, the combined neck and back version) at the time, and do the exercises.I actually got an expensive Dunlopillo latex pillow (not a shaped one) and am pretty happy with it. Always keeps its shape, if you're OCD about bed symmetry, and I also tried a chain store shaped memory foam pillow - flatter than the Sissel - and was OKish with it. But I preferred the Dunlop, and relegated the memory foam to between my knees, which is a whole new review. (Doing this helps keep your spine straight, too. Or put it behind your knees if you sleep on your back.)ANYway, I wasn't not aching as much as I'm making this sound and wasn't in massive pain. But I slowly and surely got to the point where I'd pay ANYthing (even up to £50!) for a good night's sleep. So the Sissel was a last-ditch attempt at night-time peace.REVIEWSize is OK. Doesn't exactly fill a standard pillow case because of the weird shape, but it's liveable-withable. Feels nice under my head - soft but firm - and not TOO warm, not claustrophobic memory foam, and with no smell, but I DO have a bad sense of smell.I liked the feel of it from the word 'go', and didn't find it too hard or TOO springy. For me, 'too springy' can also make your neck sore.Hmmm, 3 stars. Probably 3.5, if truth be told. UPGRADING NOW TO 4 STARS. It only works for me when I sleep on my side, but I think that's what it's sold for, although you usually see pictures of back-sleepers using contoured pillows. (Not Sissel pictures.) Using it on my back seems to make my morning neck ache worse. As does falling asleep with my head on 3 pillows when I'm reading. So, side-sleepers only, I would say - and I may be wrong. But with just the Sissel - just the one pillow, no extras - in my sleep, I seem to vary between back and side, so that's not ideal with the Sissel. I sometimes wake up on my back, with a bit of a neck ache. So for me, it has to be side-sleeping on a Sissel or it doesn't work.So... It's not the miracle I was expecting. It's 'OK', so I think it's very much 'try it and see' - which can be expensive if it's not for you. I think it may unfortunately depend on where your neck aches - my slight, but annoying, pain is '2 or 3 notches down' my spine, rather than the neck itself.I SHALL persevere, though, for longer than the month-to-date, and report back - or report neck - if any changes. I'll also take out the extra layer of base foam (only on certain Sissel models) and see if that helps. And I'll go back to the Dunlopillo for a while, too, eventually, and compare my findings. This is only the start... UPDATE - sticking with the Sissel and getting happer after 2 months or more.Having said all that, my neck doesn't feel any WORSE and may very slightly sometimes feel better, if I've managed in my sleep to stay on my side and not revert to my previously-preferred position, which is flat on my back, hands crossed on my chest in front of me, just under my chin, a bit like a vampire. With neck ache.I'll keep up with the pillow and I'll try to do more of the recommended exercises (which I currently only do when I remember) and see what happens. I guess what I'm saying is not to expect TOO much, despite the good reviews, and you'll just have to bite the bullet with the cost if it doesn't work for you. I managed to get mine at a reasonable price by buying an Amazon Warehouse Deal 'with damaged packaging'. (It wasn't particularly damaged.) OK, MAYBE someone had tried it for a couple of nights and returned it, I don't know, but that didn't worry me at all. Also, I THINK Amazon will take returns if it's not for you, but double-check that before splashing the cash. Hope that helps! Just don't expect TOO much.Didn't seem to smell, but I have a poor sense of smell. (Which can be a blessing sometimes.)I think the PLUS in the description means that you can peel off the extra bottom layer, so I'll be trying this soon.

Exellent product
I have been using this pillow for 4 weeks now and so far no more neck pain or headache. The first pillow has hardly changed it's shape, however, I decided to order a second one to alternate.I recomend that product to anyone who suffers from neck and tension headache also and tinnitus.
