This is a remarkable book that I could have picked up new in 1984 for $25. It sat on the shelf for months with no takers. Why I did not buy it I will never know. Probably because I was a poor student at the time! Now long out of print, the prices have risen and risen over the years; now I'm sorry I did not buy it 3 or 4 years ago for $100!! Someone was selling xerox copies from India for $150 a few years ago--that's just nuts! It is up to $300 as I write this. With Outsider Art such an intensely studied field, and with exhibitions of Outsider Art perennially popular, why this seminal text is not more easily available is really a shame. If anyone has information about any obstacles to a new edition I'd be interested to know.I hope some publisher out there will put it out again in either paperback or hardback. I think you'd sell plenty of them. That is the sum total of my plea here!!
