Water filter for horse trough

A big cube or carbon
I recently ordered this activated carbon cube for the external filter for one of my aquariums. I was a little taken back when i first got it, it was larger than i expected and as I am used to sponges or loose carbon it was a little different. I didnt expect it to be just as solid as it was so i had to rethink how best to use it as it would be too tall to go in just one section of the filter but i had an idea!I thought it could either just place it directly in the aquarium but wasnt too sure if that would be okay or work, so i took out a section of the external filter and just added in then packed the filter media around it and it fitted in well. I have found it has help to keep the water clear so its looking very positive.In another month i will rinse it and place in the sn for a few hours and it will be good to place back in the filter.

Crumbles
It crumbled as soon as water touched it! My mum has had hers for a long time and has never crumbled

Really impressed and will order more for the other water troughs for my horses. No green build up even after weeks! They are a bit delicate but other then that great!

Works like magic
This is the second carbon water filter I have ordered because it works really well, it was used in a horse water trough and kept the water clear for a much longer time. When I first used it I was very sceptical that it would work, but there was nothing to be concerned about and the results were excellent.The carbon block, is quite lightweight due to to its honeycomb structure. Being made from carbon it is also brittle, so you need to handle it carefully.The filter will not last indefinitely before it gets clogged up, but it can be easily washed under a tap to rejuvenate it and can be used again and again.Great simple product, that can just be left to do its job, just check on it from time to time to see when it needs cleaning. Highly recommended.
