"Soft" must be subjective* (see update)
(ZilberHaar Pocket Beard Brush-Soft, B073MBT413) As a craftsman, I use a LOT of brushes for a wide variety of purposes. This is a GREAT travel hair brush! A "soft" beard brush ... not so much. I'd rate it medium hard to stiff. The skin feel, bristle density and stiffness is almost identical to a $2.00 plastic fingernail scrub brush from the supermarket (yes... I've used both, this is NOT a criticism, just a comparison). Bristle length and cut are great for scalp but for me... too uneven for a short to medium(5-20mm {3/4"}) beard. Set bristle bundles and bristle length vary as much a 3mm with some of the shortest in the very center of the brush thus somewhat irritating to sensitive facial skin. It *is* good for initial detangling. The handle... very nice! The best part of the brush in my opinion. A perfect size for daily pocket carry.*Update (2/19/23) Uneven bristle length was resolved by careful re-profiling using a pair of electric hair clippers.I just purchased an another ZilberHaar pocket brush as I was always misplacing the original purchase. GOOD NEWS... this brush arrived nicely profiled and SOFT (compared to the 1st). Just right!!!As for the original... even after months of carrying in my jeans pocket the brush has held up very well. Not shedding bristles or losing shape.... impressive!Changing to 5 stars

Great brush
Size is perfect - It works perfectly well at home for daily grooming, but it's also a perfect size to throw in my bag for travel or to take to work. The bristles are nice and firm and brush out my stiff beard very well. Considering getting a second one to leave in my desk.

Small pocket brush but not same wood as pictured
Hubby loves the bristles and how it works. Easily able to put in his briefcase and keep/use for the humid weather of Florida. Yes it is small but it’s perfect for travel and for brushing his mustache. My only complaint is that it’s not the same wood as pictured. The craftsmanship of the brush is well done but it doesn’t have the pretty two-toned look of the listing or scent of pear wood. I use a pear wood brush for my hair and the scent is so nice especially when blow drying and it’s slightly heated. Was hoping that it would be the same for my husband’s brush but its not. Overall though it’s a quality piece and will last for a long time.

Perfect Pocket Beard Brush/Oil Combo
Just recently grew my beard out. I began to realize how right ones were who spoke of the need for beard oil. This combo was perfect. Not only does the oil give a bit of a healthy shine but I found it helps tame the wild hairs. I've added my own fragrance with a few drops of Frankence and Cedarwood oil. So his unscented oil was a perfect base to start with.As for the brush..... its small enough to carry with you. Some have commented that it's too stiff. Well, I've used both Badger and Boars Hair shaving brushes for years and I am partial to the stiffness of Boars Hair. I have two beard brushes, both Boars Hair. I don't find this one much different from the other. Personally I find the stiffness of this brush totally perfect. It will hold its shape in your pocket instead of getting crushed. However I'm not critical of those who say it's too stiff. I think it's really a matter of each to his own.My opinion of this beard oil/brush combo.... 5 star 🌟

Great little brush to carry around
I carry this in my pocket to bush my hair and beard, you hardly notice it in your pocket but it’s very useful. It’s great quality and very welll made. You can tell it’s a classy product. I would k like one of the bigger brushes and sure I will get around to it.

One brush (made in England) cost me $85 but it was touted as being the best and it felt good despite its bulky size
I have a medium length beard. I have several brushes and combs. One brush (made in England) cost me $85 but it was touted as being the best and it felt good despite its bulky size. The ZilberHaar pocket brush works exactly the same as my giant $85 brush and it has the same feel. It’s listed as soft but it has good hair penetration and reaches the skin despite its small size. It distributes dry oil or balm nicely and actually feels good to use. The quality is excellent and not a single hair has fallen out in the month I’ve had it. This is a second cut boar hair brush and has the performance you would expect from such quality as you would never want to use plastic or nylon in a beard. I use it 2-3 times a day and have put away my big brush. If you’re the least bit serious about proper beard care and need a pocket size solution, I highly recommend this brush!
