Be mindful of how the magnets work, but absolutely incredible
Both the platform and the bottom of the pot on this product are magnetic by default, even when it isn't plugged in. It's important to keep this in mind, because what keeps the pot floating is a combination of its magnetism plus whatever happens to the platform when it's plugged in (I think some sort of rotation, but there is nothing audible to suggest there are moving parts). If you need to unplug this for any reason, there's a high chance the pot is going to get sent flying if you don't remove it, first (And spiny cacti can be very unpleasant to clean up!). If you live in an area prone to power surges or outages, or tend to get them during storms, you're going to want to remove the pot from the platform and unplug it to avoid accidents. I wouldn't recommend any plant for it that has the ability to cause injury that has spines, burning sap, sharp leaves, etc. because of the risk of it being a projectile. An air plant would actually be the best choice, since it doesn't need soil at all.My reasoning for not reducing the rating is because I honestly can't see a way of avoiding the usual risks with magnets; they do attempt to warn you in the instructions, and even go a step further, in that this should not be super close to people with pacemakers or delicate electronics. The pot also does levitate, as its description claims, once you put it in the correct position. You can leave it as a still object, or give it a tap and it'll just spin, seemingly forever, since the friction in the air is not going to do much to stop it. It's a fun prop for a desk or office and really grabs attention.Just don't put a spiny cactus in it.

Really neat, but it's pretty expensive.
So this little floating flower pot is really pretty cool. It looks just like the picture, and yes it really does float. It uses magnets to achieve the levitation effect, so it does have to be plugged in. I will say it took a little practice to get the pot position just right so that it would float, and not violently smashed down to the base as it's pulled by the magnets. Once I got the hang of it, it works fine. Being that I'm not much of a flower guy, I modified the pot itself to display a little replica motorcycle. None of my friends know that it's really a flower pot, but the little motorcycle on display levitating above the coffee table and slowly spinning never fails to amaze everyone and it's certainly A Conversation Piece. Not much more to say, it works well, looks good, and there's a really neat Conversation Piece around the house. I will note that the flower pot itself is pretty tiny, just something to be aware of in case you're planning on planting anything beyond a tiny bonsai tree. I would buy it again-it's really cool.

Very cool looking
I must say, this floating/levitating pot is such a cool decoration, it has been getting a lot of attention in my office. The clean black design is nice and modern, and works quite well. It just floats above the platform and if you lightly spin it, it keeps spinning for a very long time.I did find that it was a bit hard to get the positioning just right in the beginning, but once I learned what it felt like when it was in position, I can place it easily. I love the look of it, and have a little cactus spinning all day.

REALLY DANG COOL and really good feeling quality build!
I've had my eye on this and other items like it for a while and what prevented me from pulling the trigger was the price.I assumed, it would be a cheap plastic thing if for no reason other than the top part had to be light enough to float, even with a plant in it and at the price point, something like that just didn't seem worth it.I was wrong. This thing is quality. The build is completely sturdy. The succulent pot itself feels just as good as one you'd by to sit on a table and not see float. The whole thing feels well built. It takes a try or two to get the knack of making it float but once you do, it's mesmerizing.I know a lot of stuff on Amazon from unfamiliar brands comes in wholesale-looking plain cardboard boxes but this comes in full retail packaging suitable for gift-giving.It's pricey - i won't deny that - but it's not like the cheap novelty junk I was expecting it to be AT ALL.Watch the video which is 100% accurate to what you get and how it looks in real-life. If you can afford it and it looks awesome to you and you can imagine a place in your home or office to put it or you'd like to get it for someone else but are afraid it might be cheap and tacky, I don't think you'll be at all disappointment!

so cool. perfect for air plants
This is so cool. my kids could watch it for an hour or more. you plug in the base and then hold the pot above it in the center, it can be a little tricky to get it in that perfect middle position but just keep trying and you'll get it. it spins around at different speeds depending on how fast you start it and the weight of the plant in it. i am not using soil in mine because i put an air plant in it which cant be put in soil. i love the way this looks. i have it sitting on my heart shaped plant stand. i plan to get at least one more so i can have one on each side. it isnt noisy, stay spinning without assistance. it is a little expensive but its so unique and cool im willing to buy one. would make an awesome gift for plant lovers or even as decor for a desk or something.

Delightful!
It has been absolutely too hot lately to go to our favorite succulent store to obtain a small plant for this fun plant pot. So, I finally decided to just set it up without a plant and photograph it. While I’m at it, I also want to tell everyone how much fun this silly little planter is. It requires patience and several attempts to set it up, but persist and you’ll be rewarded. Not only does it float, the planter even rotates. What fun! I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with it.
