This author has some very fresh ideas and interesting approaches to woodworking, and scroll saw in particular. I have been very happy with the photos, instructions, and workable solutions. All instructions are clear, the photos are excellent and text understandable. You will need a scroll saw or fret saw to complete the projects presented. Whether beginner or expert, there are projects and challenges for all levels. I made the rose business card holder, a chapter/project from this book featured in ScrollSaw magazine. As the author states you can adapt the project idea with different art, which I have done twice with the business card holder. The card holder has attracted more attention (and sales) than any other item I have made to date. The interest generated from the card holder was the main prompt to purchase this book, I had to see if there are other good ideas to make and sell -- I was not disappointed. If you are looking for new ideas to gift or to sell, I am of the opinion that you will not regret a purchase of this book. I hope it is not too long before the next book by Roshaan Ganief, she holds considerable promise as an artist and author (I have never met her and have no connection to the publisher or author).

This book is very well produced and written. Nice photos and how-to steps. There are some good projects shown and many can be customized or changed to create other similar projects. Good patterns are available in the book along with some jigs to help you with the projects offered. My only problem with this and other scrollsaw books is copying the patterns from bound books. I don't want to cut up the book to get good flat sheets to copy from. At least this book has very well defined patterns for copying. I would definitely recommend this book for reference.

Simply Wood is Simply Awesome!Just got into scroll sawing and have been building up my collection ofhow-to books. This book is layed out very well. Parts list, color photosand instructions that go well with the photos, makes it easy to follow.The projects are great. Some may take me lots of practice to perfect,but they are inspiring. It was a great idea including the patterns toreproduce the project. Having the other woodworking techniques explainedsuch as the table saw and router use, makes it appealing to someone that'snot just scroll sawing. I appreciate the author's explanation of the designsand how the project fits in our lives. I am really enjoying this book.

I purchased this in a Kindle format hoping there would be a link in it to printable files with the patterns out of the book, no such link. I'm not disappointed in the purchase but it would be nice to have access to the patterns with the Kindle edition

I was so surprised by this book. I was probably the best scroll saw book that I have seen so far. I have purchased many scroll saw books in the past but this one by far was the nicest. The photos, designs and patterns and the steps were nicely illustrated. When I received the book I thought wow, finally someone put out a book that was really something current it has great ideas that really inspire the artist. I love playing with the scroll saw but have always been put off by the selection of plans I've been able to find. They've always been either too cutesy, or too folksy, or just too uninspired. The plans in this book, however, are creative, contemporary, and practical. I don't think there is a plan included that I won't attempt at some point. The author also wrote a very good introduction to scrolling that really helps explain blade selection. I really hope that she produces more books in the future.

When I first came across this book, while scanning through Amazon, the cover drew me in immediately! If you have any interest is creating elegant, simplistic and modern projects for the home...get this book! I just started getting into scroll sawing and I've seen many patterns that seem very "old timey" and look like there were created a really long time ago. However, this author has fresh and beautiful projects that will amaze; she's created a style that has taken my breath away!! Highly recommended!!!

Excellent service great book

Ganz praktische Schritt für Schritt Anleitungen für alle Arbeitsschritte - auch für das Beizen und Lackieren,Schleifen etc, also mehr als nur ein Vorlagenbuch. Sogar die Art und Größe der Sägeblatter ist vermerkt.Die Motive sind elegant modern, so ganz ohne Barock zu sein.Meine Frau und Meine Eltern haben sich schon gleich ganz ungefragt einige Geschenkideen vorgemerkt:-)

Leider habe ich das Buch versehentlich gekauft. Aber ein kleiner Tipp. Es ist die englische Ausgabe von fein gesägt!: 40 Objekte mit der Dekupiersäge [Gebundene Ausgabe]Roshaan Ganief (Autor)ISBN-10: 3866309600Die deutsche Fassung ist noch ausführlicher.

I haven't done everything in here, but she does have some interesting projects. I really like the office accessories and wall hangings. With the base pieces, you can expand in with your own artwork.
