Lives up to it's name

Very nice
Among all of the ukuleles I've bought and sold, I think Lanakai is one of the best quality short of getting something custom.They still have some minor issues at times like frets that need dressing, but to me, it's a minor issue.It happens erratically during production.This one only had a few frets to touch a bit.Sharp frets are quite commonplace.The main issue with this one was that the wiring for the eq was a mess which you could see through the soundhole.I was able to tuck it up and neatly tie it out of the way.This ukulele sounds better than many others including many solid top examples.So does the larger tenor version.Lanakai really knows how to get a nice rich tone from a laminated ukulele.Tonal quality really depends on the placement of the bracing, the size of the soundhole, bridge placement and overall construction techniques.Also the materials used in general.They really know what they're doing.My clientele likes Lanakai and so do I.I will definitely continue to sell these.

Photo not correct - No inlaid around sound hole.
The Ukulele I received was not the one pictured online. The one I received does not have the inlaid around the sound hole. The photo shows an inlaid around the sound hole. While this may not affect the sound, it does affect the look of the instrument. This is my 2nd Lanikai. I have been very happy with my first one. This was an upgrade with built in tuner and pickup. Please update online photos.
