Good, strong capo, if a bit short
I have had a spring-type capo for over 20 years that has performed flawlessly on various guitars. I got this one as my wife also plays, and we have a ukulele and a 3/4 scale guitar as well. This capo is likely a little better suited to the smaller necks, although it does work adequately on my full-size acoustic guitar too. All open strings ring clearly. But as you can see from my comparison photo, the back section where it would hold on the backside of the neck is a bit shorter than my other one.I wouldn't worry about this one falling off - the spring is plenty strong and there's some nice padding on there too. But it's JUST enough shorter that I'd want to use my original one on my full size acoustic, and save this one for smaller-scale fretted instruments. But you can certainly get this one knowing that it will work on a full size acoustic too.

Great for Ukulele!
I don't own a 4 string guitar so I can't tell you anything there. I do have a mandolin and a Ukulele so we'll talk about that.First off, the capo is well made. It's all aluminum and the spring is about the right tension. It has what looks to be neoprene on the part that touches the neck as well as the part that pushes down on the strings. With both the Ukulele and the Mandolin the tension was enough to push the strings down to the fret.On the Ukulele this capo did a good job. There was no fret buzz on the nylon stringed Ukulele when I put on the capo. It stayed in place and the shape of it didn't interfere with playing. I tried it in several positions and had good results each time.On the mandolin things didn't go quite as smooth. Higher up the fret board where the neck is a little fatter the capo did fine but honestly, how often are you going to be higher than the 3rd fret or so? The rest of the time the radius of the capo was a little off and it didn't seem to fit quite right. With a little work I was able to get it to seat appropriately but there was a very slight amount of fret buzz. It could be my playing but I had to work extra hard to get it in the sweet spot. If you're just sitting at home picking this may not be an issue AND it may not be an issue on other mandolins as the shape of the neck varies from different makes and models. In a live situation in front of people this could be an issue.Overall I found this capo to be well built and it did it's job. Having some extra pics is always nice so that was a nice extra to come with it.

It does work
This is a handy little capo for your 4 stringed instrument. It has a good clamp to it so it holds the strings down tight. Don't try to use this on a 6 string guitar, because it just isn't wide enough. It can only be used on a very thin necked instrument.

A bit rougher than shown, but works fine.
I have a silver version of this style capo, but the copper version caught my eye. Itβs not as nice as shown, rougher looking than even the silver one, but it still works fine. Came with three Alice pics, two .58mm and a whopper 1.5mm.

Tiny but functional
I got this for my husband who plays around on a Gretsch banjolele and it fit perfectly. It appears to be well-made, lightweight and has good functionality snapping onto the neck. Most ukes (and banjoleles for that matter) have a pretty short neck, so there is a limited need for a capo. That being said, this works fine if you are looking for one.
