[Korean street] Hongdae Red Chillli Tteokbokki Rice cakes (1 Pack)- Quick & Easy Korean Snacks- Sweet & Moderately Spicy sauce Topokki for Korean Food Lovers

I got a different brand and the original flavor and it was far too sweet and too spicy for me. I was very disappointed because I love the rice cake texture but the sauce was just too much for me. So I found this brand as they offered a different flavor (soy garlic) so I thought I’d give it one more go and I’m so happy I did. It was perfect. Absolutely delicious. 10/10.

I loved the flavor of the soy garlic sauce, there was just enough for that portion of rice cakes. The small rice cakes sticks have a great chewy texture. The portion is what I would consider a snack sized amount. Add in some fresh veg, tofu, chicken, beef whatever basically you like to make it a decent sized meal that comes together with a quickness. Definitely will buy again.

These are good, with the chewy texture you know. The flavor was good and not too salty at all. I am happy I tried this flavor as I was able to share it with family that found the original flavor too hot and spicy. I would recommend them as a snack or as a starch side to a meal. The price was a bit higher than what I pay in store, but they don't have this flavor.

The Tteokbokki is good, and I enjoy it a lot with the sauce. However, I found the serving size to be underwhelming since it was only one pack. Even though I followed the instructions to the tea, the tteokbokki came out a little bit firm.Tteokbokki rice cake 3.5/5: The instructions stated to cook for 3 minutes after adding the sauce packets, but I feel that this is not enough time. The rice cake tasted slightly al dente, which was not what I expected. I was hoping for a softer and chewier texture. Instead of following the instructions, I would have boiled the rice cakes first before mixing them.Sauce 5/5: The sauce is great; it's basically gochujang but more savory and less spicy. The dry sauce packet looks like a bunch of dry scallions.Overall, the rice cake is decent if I'm looking for a quick 3-minute meal. However, it still needs more to elevate it. Eating the rice cake by itself is not filling at all. I would need at least 3 packets, but adding my own ingredients makes it more satisfying. If the purpose of the rice cake is to make a quick meal, then it has failed in that category. Making a full meal with it takes the same amount of time as buying a container of gochujang and a bag of rice cake separately, and it would be more cost-effective in terms of quantity and quality.

So this was our first time trying this, and we weren't sure what to expect. It was easy to make, and the taste was amazing. I'm definitely wanting to get and other flavors again. Everyone in the house tried it and loved it!!

I've been wanting to try this for a long time. Now I wish I can buy them any where. I would definitely buy these again.

Bought 4 packs for them to all be expired with the day “10-23-24” this is my second time ordering trying to get actual good ones but no. It’s January of 2025

The taste was surprisingly good for instant. Definitely buying again.
