VALUE for the money
This Steeldive SD1953 is a tremendous value for a watch that costs just over $100... Seriously, I realize I bought a homage to the world famous Submariner but I am completely satisfied with what I received. It has a NH-35 movement, sapphire crystal, and it's been working great. The design is very clean and the quality is good.. This watch was expertly packed and it took time to unwrap the plastic/bubble sealing, so it's ovious Steeldive cares about getting you the watch is pristine condition. Overall I just bought this steeldive because I like affordable watches that I can wear around town and work without worrying I'm going to break the bank on luxury watch costing thousands of dollars. If you want something that looks good and is just fun to have as a daily wear watch, then this will do the trick... It you want real expensive luxury brands for special occasions, then make sure your checking account is very well funded and look elsewhere.

Quality defies cost...
I've been wearing an Invicta Pro Diver watch since I got one for a very low price during Prime Day last autumn. It is a very nice watch, even more so considering the sub-hundred dollar price. But like many (most) watch people, I'm always open to more purchases. Enter this Steeldive 1953.The minute that I opened the box I kept thinking, how can this cost so little? There is a quality that jumps out at you and I kept waiting for the revelation of where they cut corners to bring this in at a price point that is now being exceeded multiple times for some Timex watches. So far, I can't complain about anything again taking the cost into account. To anyone that may be going to YouTube to check out reviews for this watch, therehas apparently been an upgrade in the bracelet which has been one negative point in many of those reviews. The bracelet that came on my watch does not have any slop or looseness in the links and the clasp has been upgraded too. There are 6 micro adjustments that give way more precision to size it after removing links. FWIW, I have a 6 1/2 inch wrist and I removed 4 links, which gave me a perfect fit. My watch came with a pin removal tool, a cheap one, but it worked fine. After I sized my bracelet, set the day and date and put this watch on my wrist, I put my Invicta away... it's not in the same league. I still don't know how Steeldive does it, but I'm glad that I discovered this watch.

An attractive watch and a good price point
I thought this watch was an attractive watch at a great value. Its basically an off brand steel dive case with a NH35 movement (I assume, I haven't opened the case). The one I ordered is a 'smurf' style (blue dial, blue bezel, oyster type bracelet). The watch comes with an appropriate sized small snap plastic case with padding inside, a double ended combo tool for watch bands, and a very cheap press to remove a watch band pin (Its sufficient to adjust the watch band at least once but not much more). It came with a basic manual on the movement in multiple languages, and a green warranty card. It did not come with instructions on the band, and taking a link out, but a quick video search will show you how to do that. I didn't think to check before I started, so I originally tried to drive the band pins out backwards, but I got it done and sized for my wrist. Unless you have a monster wrist, you will probably have to take out one link, maybe two. My one real gripe and one star deduction is the magnification window on the date. I am not sure if it is overmagnified or undersized, or just distorted, but basically the watch has to be perfectly oriented to read the date correctly since if its not, the magnification is mostly just distortion. It happened to be on the 16th when received, but I believe it said it was the 6th, because the '1' is reasonably small and unless perfectly centered in your viewing you won't even see it. It would in fact be easier to read without the magnification window. But there is a magnification window on the name brand watches, so this one has to have one too. But since I paid $130 for the watch not 10k h I will ignore the date function. Is it really worth the 1 star deduction, logically no, its such a great value, but aesthetically, that distorted blob where the date is seen every time you look at the watch to check the time. Its rated for depths to 300 meters, which of course none of us are able to test since recreational limits are 40 meters. I'd say you probably be okay diving with it as it does have a screw down crown, but it is an inexpensive clone so its always a crap shoot. I usually dive internationally and don't take any jewelry with me on those dive trips, so I won't know till I do some US diving, and even then its been almost 25 years since i dove without a computer so the watch is more decoration for diving rather than an essential timekeeping piece for diving. I ran one of the free timing apps on my phone, and the watch showed as 2 seconds per day fast, (when fully manually wound) sitting upright. Which is certainly acceptable to me.

VERY PLEASE WITH QUALITY... SO FAR
I was looking for an affordable watch that had a true 300 meter water resistance rating and was suitable to wear for dressy occasions. This model has met those requirements easily. I've just started wearing it, so I can't speak to my long term satisfaction yet. However, first impressions are very positive. I found no issues with the metal band. I did have to remove four of the six removable links to fit my wrist. The lume is outstanding. The dial appears high quality, markers and print very good. I'm not a fan of the date cyclops that many of these watches use (and Submariners too). The magnification makes the date more difficult to read for my eyes, but at least the cyclops appears properly applied. The watch came well packaged with link removal tools (under the foam in the box). Very pleased!

Great watch…..should cost way more!
The media could not be loaded. Was on the fence about this watch….but read the reviews, watched the YouTube videos and decided to buy. I'm not at the point in life to buy a Rolex but this will definitely hold me over. The quality, the sleek look and did I mentioned the lume? I have a couple of other Homage watches by Pagani (Coke GMT and Blue Day Date) but this SD1953 just feels to be of a higher quality. I'm on the fence about the band but I love the logo’d clasp. It's great the watch comes with the push pin tool and another tool I used for the micro adjustment. Word of advice: If you don't pay attention the micro adjust pin will shoot out….took me 30 min to find it. Overall Happy with the watch…I had recently purchased a PD Black Bay Homage and sent it back and very happy with this purchase!!!!!
