Great lights for the price. After searching for sconces for a couple days, my wife came across these and they fit beautifully. I recessed them a little bit so they wouldn’t stick out quite so far and they are perfect.

I bought two sets of these and had two very different experiences, so I'm going to leave two reviews. These (the shorter ones) arrived great and are so much fun. I love the way they look in my office. No problem turning and adjusting them. Didn't use the remote, just plugged them into the socked that works with my on/off switch in the room. The problems arose when I purchased a SECOND set (the longer ones) and tried to use them with the remote, and one of the longer ones wouldn't turn, and it was awful. Do NOT buy these if you're going to try to use the remote. They only work well with the switch on the cord or if you plug them into a switched outlet. That review to follow.

I initially installed the lights using the included plugs using an Insteon plug-in dimmer switch as a temporary solution while I waited for the 4" plate adapters which I requested through the posted email address. The plates took about 2-3 weeks to arrive. Once they arrived, hardwired the lights through an Insteon micro-dimmer switch which I placed in an attic junction box that fed both lights.I am extremely happy with the lights. They throw a lot of light but can be easily dimmed using the included remote. The remote can control one or both lights at the same time (on/off, dim, light color). The lights look sharp and I like the ability to move each bar individually.The 4" plates that were provided for free from the manufacturer make the lights even better! I was concerned that they would detract from the look of the lights but the brass plate along with the two brass screws really make the lights stand out even more. Installation of the plates was extremely easy as the plug-in wires simply detach from the unit and I just inserted 14-2 wire into the internal connections.Only issue that I've had is while they were temporarily installed. I had some issues with the lights not remembering their previous setting or turning off unexpectedly. This seems to have been caused due to the slower ramp rate of the Insteon plug-in dimmer and I suspect it caused issues with the devices. Once I installed it on the micro-dimmer switch with an instantaneous-on ramp rate I didn't have any issues at all.What surprised me the most was the customer service. After emailing the company to request the plate adapters, they were extremely quick on all responses and always polite. They provided tracking information as well as an additional installation guide. They even sent a follow-up email after the parts were received just to see if I had any issues. What company takes the time just to follow-up with customers anymore? That's fantastic!I would definitely recommend this product and I plan on looking for more GOODATE products in the future.

This product may be okay if you use the cord provided. However for hardwired applications it has multiple flaws that wasted a lot of my time:1. Not UL listed - likely unlawful to install in the US2. The cover plate does not cover any standard 4in US junction box.3. The remote is the only way to turn the lights off.4. When the lights are hardwired and turned off with the remote, a very dim light still shows.

Is it just me, or do you also hate instructions like "drill a hole"? Just any size hole?To install this product:1. Remove your children. It's possible that inappropriate language will be involved.2. Read the directions for both the physical installation AND the remote control. You need to do the remote part first.3. Gather tools. You need a drill and a drill bit. After some experimentation, I settled on a 1/4" drill bit. Screw bit will help, but you could go with a regular Philips screwdriver for the anchor screws. Hammer, level or plumb-bob (or a few paperclips on a weak string to show you a straight line). Find the tiniest Philips screwdriver you've got. Light/flashlight/phone light. You will need this not only to align the screw holes, but also when you inevitably drop the very small black screws that will bounce and roll half way across the room. A piece of masking tape on the wall if you'd rather not mark all over your walls - mark the spot for your anchors and drill right through the tape.The rest of the instructions in the box will get you there. Once they are in, they're nice. I'm looking for cord covers, but apart from that and a typically crappy set of instructions, these are nice to have once installed.

The media could not be loaded. Worked well in a room with no overhead lighting. Plugged into the outlet connected to the light switch. These come with everything needed to either hard wire or plug into an outlet. The remote is easy to use and maintains a great connection to both lights. Soft or bright white are a tap away. Set it for night light mode, set a timer, or turn it off with the remote AND you can still use the light switch in the morning without trouble because the lights remain in the most-recent setting even if you flip the wall switch.
