It is a chemical insect spray so be careful if you have pets or small children. Best to spray along baseboards to maximize the product. Upside to this product is the residual effect. You only have to spray every 30-45 days.

Never timed it, but not long. And it continues to work for quite some time. I spray it across threshold between garage and kitchen, and I find the upside down carcasses of roaches that tried and failed to breach this barrier. It’s the best product I’ve ever found.

The batteries included will last well beyond the life of the product. You will not have to replace unless you plan to refill your bottle and re-use it.

Q: what type of insects does the bug barrier kill

I use it to kill stink bugs on my deck, trying to get in around the doors. It doesn't kill them instantly because stink bugs have that hard shell, but a day or two after I spray, I have dead stink bugs all over the deck, so it definitely works! It also works for almost every other bug and spider. I spray in my garage and it kills them all.
