Good movie, not what you would expect from title, but a middle build movie.

Liked it being original. Nice to have a fresh title that's not a sequel or offshoot. Didn't like the extra wide 2.66:1 ratio because of more black bar area on screen. 2.35:1 should be max & 1.85:1 is nice. Picture quality though is superb. Surprised at how clear it was even for blu-ray standards. Story is fairly good but don't like what the aliens do to the humans. It makes it borderline horror flick & almost cost it another star. Also seems to jump around a little much. Sometimes it's needed but could've done better IMO. 4 stars. Watched it once but won't be keeping it.

Something goes very wrong on a newly colonized planet, which causes those in control to order the annihilation of the entire planet which causes Lt. Kane Sommerville (Daniel MacPherson) to go against orders to rescue his young daughter (Teagan Croft). Desperate to get to her before it’s too late, Kane enlists the help of an escaped prisoner (Kellan Lutz) . You have to understand that this seems to have been introduced as a first in a series (I really hope there will be more, but not sure where they will go from here) it is a little slow as we meet the characters and they are very wide and varied. I love these types of apocalyptic movies. The support characters....loved them. As for Daniel MacPherson and Kellan Lutz...they were excellent and believable it was as though I had known them forever and was cheering for them. The direction and story and writing....superb. This movie being filmed in the outback of Australia, Cooba Pedy, I think gives this film a desolate and authentic feel, love Australian movies.

I only bought this because I'm kind of a scifi nut, and I tend to let things slide in order to enjoy them for what they are. The description sounded good, and the ratings seemed pretty good (though I didn't actually read any of them).I really enjoyed this movie. The effects (with one exception noted later) are fluid and well done without being too in your face. The story is good, and the acting is better.My only gripe is the "monsters". They show a lack of imagination and are a serious departure from the experience. They feel like an afterthought that was rushed. It's almost like someone wanted to add in characters at the last minute, mashed together some ideas and picked the one that could be finished quickest. They really remind me of the vultures from The Dark Crystal.Regardless, I feel that this film is easily worth 4 stars.

I took a chance buying this movie before seeing it first, and I lost. I had high hopes for this movie but I learned its very hard to find good sci fi movies anymore. The movie moves along slowly and failed to keep my interest as much as I tried. My wife actually fell asleep! The chapter announcements throughout the movie were distracting going from past then to the future left you wondering whats going on. The story starts out interestingly enough but soon the story slowly lingers on thus loosing interest. And those creatures that resemble teenage mutant ninja turtles on steroids? Come on people! The turltle monsters were engineered to eradicate life forms on planets to be colonized. But the the indiginous life forms that's attacked become the turtle like aliens. So now you have a new world thats full of these turtle like monsters. How do humans colonize a planet thats full of the now turtle monsters? They never explain this ..The ending sucks, it just leaves you hanging wondering what happens next. I gave it 3 stars only because it is sci fi, acting and story were ok..barely. Maybe after watching it again I will get more out of it.

Government attempting to hide their mistake

The Osiris Child is an Au's Sci -Film about a dangerous outbreak created by the same people living on a newly colonized planet that threatens to kill everyone so as to destroy all alien life , an experimental creature that takes over so they plan on blowing it up and LT . Kane goes against orders to find and save his daughter before is too late with the help of escape convict Kallan Lutz and a brother and step sister couple with some good dog fight space craft and action scenes , not a bad picture and sound , they could have made the creature a bit more convincing than again not bad for a B grade movie , border line four for a great plot .

Good movie with Kellan Lutz for being a old movie.

La película empieza como toda típica película de ciencia ficción nada sobresaliente, pero conforme va avanzando la trama empieza a agarrar fuerza narrativa con buenos personajes y los últimos 30-40 minutos son de los giros más inesperados que he visto en una película ( aunque nada le gana al final de la película surcoreana OLD BOY ) vale la pena esta película y ojalá tenga el éxito suficiente para la secuela, ya que esta película fue planeada como trilogía. Contiene subtítulos en Español aunque subtitulan todo como: VIENTO SOPLANDO.... ESTRUENDO DE FONDO...

This film was a big surprise to me. it was far better than I was expecting. Not perfect by any means, but considering the limited budget and the presence of Kellan Lutz, it was very good.Speaking of Lutz, his performance in this was - to my great surprise - very convincing. Which only goes to show that in capable hands even a so-so actor can pull off some very convincing acting.The story is fun, it hops, skips, and jumps through time, back and forth, which at first can be disconcerting, but once you've gotten the rhythm of it, it makes sense.

Time to change your thinking when it comes to movies like these. Australian people think so.of which this movie was filmed. dimensional thinking is not strong for some.they’re times when you sit to learn, you know like in school, if you go to the bathroom to muchyou miss a lot. this movie need your time and not your sarcasm of it being bored.Widescreen 2.66.1English 5.1 DTS-HD Master.
