Compact size gets you in tough spots!
The Snap-on impact ratchet I was using to remove my lugs could not fit behind my rotor assembly to remove my caliper bracket. So I broke out this guy and thought to myself this probably will not release those 15 mm bolts that hold the bracket on as they have Loctite on them and are the original ones from being outside on the truck for 10 years. I was wrong, this little gun spun those off after three or four seconds of hitting it with the impact. Great for working on vehicles as it's basically the same size as the HTP impact drill. Very satisfied!

Defective First Unit
2nd UPDATE: Changing my review to 5 stars. I used this to remove a water heater anode rod, notoriously difficult to tackle. But, this unit did the job when I expected it wouldn't. A 24" breaker bar on a water heater is not a great idea because the torque can twist the unit, causing potential plumbing damage. Hence, an impact wrench is the perfect tool for anode rod removals. I do wish Metabo would up its game and introduce an 18v High Torque impact wrench to compete against Milwaukee's unit. Til then, this Metabo version is a good Low Torque unit for those of us invested in the Metabo/Hitachi 18v line.UPDATE: I took a chance and asked for a replacement unit. Sure enough, the replacement unit worked as expected, meaning the original unit received was defective. Although I don't notice much torque difference between this Impact Wrench vs the Triple Hammer Impact Driver (w/ a 1/2" drive adapter), I'll keep it for the convenience.Message to Metabo: when you buy a high quality mfgr like Hitachi and decide to change the name, you better deliver. Metabo has not. My experience over the past year since Metabo took over is a lack of quality control with significantly higher prices (your 10" table saw is an example of no change except name & the price has nearly doubled in the past year). Hype and a failure to deliver in this industry is the kiss of death. Contractors are loyal to their tools. Don't give us an excuse to flirt with Makita.Hopefully, Metabo does the right thing and takes my defective unit out of the supply chain so someone else is not stuck with a crippled unit.ORIGINAL 1 STAR REVIEW: I have the twin Hitachi Triple Hammer Impact Driver which is very good. Put a 1/2" socket adapter on that and it has no problem removing a wheel lug tightened at 75 ft lbs. This Impact Wrench, rated at 225 ft lbs at it's highest setting, doesn't budge it and begins to smoke. Did I receive a dud? Maybe, but, it's being returned. My entire 18v line has been Hitachi and I've never had an issue until Metabo bought them. The only two Metabo branded tools I've recently purchased have both been duds.
