Affordable gadget lets me see my cats when I'm away
I ordered this camera to be able to look at a live image of my apartment if I'm away for the night. It was pretty straightforward, setting it up in a light socket.I have used the app both home and away and have been able to successfully monitor my cats while away. The live image is clear. The lightbulb form factor is clever. It's within my budget. Thumbs up for rock and roll

Barely works, much lower stats than advertised.
Where to start...The recording quality is low, and the resolution is very, very small. This is not 1080p. Maybe 1/4 that.I've tried several micro SD cards on this. The best you'll be able to get it to accept is a 32 gb. Even then, mine would only record about 1 GB worth of data before it stops recording for no reason, usually about 3 hours worth.I had no trouble connecting to it remotely, and recording manually. But I can't do that all the time, and I missed things constantly. The battery life is low, so expect to have this thing plugged in by cable at all times. If for some reason you need to spy a room for an hour or two, it can be used for that, but don't leave it all day. This thing has three lights in it, a red, blue, and orange led. You can disable these in different ways, but they also seem to just turn back on on their own randomly. Expect to use black tape if you need to hide this thing. Also, I turned off the lights one time and for some reason it stopped recording in response. Enraging.I've repeatedly tried to deal with the fact that it just stops recording for no reason, despite the fact it's barely using the SD card. After it stops recording, the videos won't load remotely. If I'm very lucky, I can get it to start recording again if I repeatedly change settings and remotely reboot it over and over again. Usually not. And even if it does, it starts recording over the videos it already made. The only fix I found is to go home, take the SD card out, remove the files, put it back in, restart the camera, and pray that it starts recording automatically. I'll get about three more hours. Finally, after only a few days, it shut off randomly after 2 hours. And now it just says the device is offline. It clearly turns on it works, but it no longer lets me view what it's doing, if it's doing anything at all.Now at two days of having no online access after setting it up each day, just praying it records a tiny, blurry, static-sounding set of videos for more than 3 hours.May return it if I can't troubleshoot it into a half-working state.

A lot of features
I purchase various types of surveillance equipment frequently for customers. The METRICSQUARE Camera is recommended. You get a lot features that more expensive cameras have. I set this camera up in my office to notify me of motion when I'm away. I like the fact that it records audio and has a micro SD slot. Some of my existing more expensive cameras do not have some of these features. The size is small and blends in with room decor easily. It is much more discreet than my ceiling dome camera. Calling it a spy camera might be a stretch, but again it does not draw attention because it is small.1080 quality is perfect. 1080 is the sweet spot for surveillance in my opinion. It doesn't use too much space and still has HD clarity. I have purchased BLINK minis in the past and the video quality is just as good. The adjustable mount is also better than other brands I have purchased. The magnetized removal is a nice touch. The app is intuitive and everything setup easier than the geeni system I own. I'll be buying more of these as I need them.

Crappy!!
It does the job! I was a bit disappointed with the fact that you have to be at home to be able to view the camera live and what not but I am still impressed with the quality of the picture. Only other complaint would be when it’s plugged in it’s hard to get it to sit right. But overall all for the price of the product it’s a good camera.Updated review: 10/31/2023This seller pays for the product for customers to get them to leave positive reviews gave the product seller a 5 star review and left a comment which was pretty much honest. That being said he didn’t like what I wrote and wanted me to edit it because for some reason he didn’t like what I said about his product. But honestly if I wasn’t told to leave a 5 stars I would have left a 2 but because the seller didn’t return my money for the product and make it right like the deal was then I believe that they are not being honest and all of the reviews on his page are paid for. It’s not fair and it’s bad business! The camera sucks and doesn’t hold a charge at all less than a day and it’s dead. Also the camera is poor quality and that’s that! It doesn’t strand on its own well with the stand it comes with. The camera isn’t viewed remote at all and so you will need a SD card. Then you have to review it like that and I was wanting one that I could view when I was gone from home this camera isn’t the one. So I’ll ask for a return so the seller can actually pay me like he said but this time it’s my honest fully honest opinion!
