Garden Haven (TM) Rattan Garden Day Bed Lounger with Black Table Furniture Set

I bought this last year and i had some issues with the delivery, but after investigating and contacting the seller it quickly became apparent that the issues were all to do with me than them. I didn't have the time or skill to make it up as the instructions looked a bit daunting, this summer it took two of us an hour or so to construct it and i can honestly say it is the best. Absolute quality all the way through from the sections themselves to the brilliant cushions that are provided. I've seen other products hundreds of pounds more expensive but can honestly say this one is fantastic. So stable and comfortable, been using it almost everyday the suns been out.

This did not go together very well and leaves about half inch gaps between the back pieces that are joined. The canopy won't go down, due to the gas cylinders, far to powerful. On trying to close it the rod bent and snapped. So we are now left without the canopy. Which defeats the object. But on the plus side it is quite sturdy and strong. It is very very comfortable and looks great in the garden. Also for you sun worshipers out there, while we had the canopy it was like a sun trap, it kept any wind or breeze out.

Item arrived flat packed - it arrived quickly and on date promised - instructions not very clear/some item labeling missing which made assembly even more difficult. Once put together some of the screws did not fit well in place, for example the round table with straight screws, some gaps remained between each panel with screws visible through gaps. Such shaped items should really be sent pre-assembled as it is not just anyone's job to be able to assemble. The cushions on the other hand are lovely and of high quality, they are also shower proof ( light shower can just be wiped off and cushions can be used straight away). Nonetheless once item assembled it looks lovely in the garden ( if you dont look too closely at potential gaps! )

Responding to others' comments on assembly, I'd say it's fiddly but not difficult (I did it solo but it did take a while). That said, I wouldn't contemplate it without an electric screwdriver and a flexi-extension (honestly, if you've paid this much do yourself a favour and spend an extra £20-£30 quid!).My top tip: put the hydraulic pistons on VERY LAST, so AFTER you've attached all the hood arms to the base.Once assembled it's absolutely brilliant. Really robust, feels very high quality, including all the cushions. The hood is incredibly practical and with the pistons just raise it automatically (you have to deliberately push it back down and tie it off).My ONLY quibble is... at this price surely they could throw in a cover with it? I bought one for another £25 which does the job nicely (Woodside Outdoor Garden Rattan Day Bed Protective Cover 1.85m x 0.55m-0.9m/6.1ft x 1.8ft-3ft).Very, very happy.

Let's be very clear. Attempting to construct this thing is like waging a small war. I am a highly decorated veteran of numerous campaigns in the Ikea (I was injured at the Battle of Pax Wardrobe in 2015) but I have never encountered anything as perilous as this so called "Garden Haven". However, the Mrs wanted it. So it had to be done. I estimate it took me about 8 hours on my own (the Mrs had just had her nails done so she was out of the game). It comes with about 60 screws and frankly it would have been easier if the instructions were in Dothraki (and probably less violent). Each screw has to be turned by hand countless times and i was left at the end with one screw hole not lining up so Cliff knows how stable that part of it will be (I might reserve that spot for the mother-in-law).Update one year on. This has not weathered well. Despite buying a heavy duty cover for it the canopy & cushions are all covered in mould, the metal fixings have all rusted badly & the zips on 3 of the cushions have broken. Very disappointing. Would not buy again.

Looks good after being finally finished. Instructions are poor and some screws don’t fix properly. Some missing bits but they sent next day.
