Children of the Sun Paperback – November 28, 2022

For starters, I typically don’t write reviews. But, I have been a fan of Heru Ptah since “Show Me A Beautiful Woman “ and then with “Somewhere in Brooklyn”. Heru's words have always made me travel places, and that's never been more the case than with Children of the Sun.The cover art is what initially peaked my interest. However, being a YA novel, I wondered if it would be a book for me, a person who is thirty something.I decided to give it a read. And I could honestly say it is a book for my age. It's very intelligent very profound and very spiritual. I would recommend it to my younger cousins, as well as my mother. It’s a book any one can get into and enjoy.The chapters are short and move quickly. Something exciting is always happening. It's a great balance of history, mythology and fantasy. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Sochi, Ami and Mari, and I felt genuinely afraid for them many times during the novel. And when it ended, I didn't want it to, and I can't wait for book 2. You're going to love this book. Read it and thank me later.

I was torn between reading it in one go or savouring it as long as possible. It's so multi-dimensional. The surface story is captivating, but the more subtle levels underneath the main story felt like pure magic. It made me feel like being sucked into a parallel reality. I feel the book has super powers that are transmitted to me while I am reading. through the process I remembered past lives I had. Mind blowing. Bottom line: It is a pretty unique experience to read this book... It made me feel as if I was right there with the protagonists. In addition to the excellent entertainment, there is so much wisdom to be remembered. Looking forward to reading it again.

This novel is a glorious blend of history and mythology; Ptah weaves together the history of human kind at an almost cosmic level, through the touching, deeply present-day story of three young people. It was a joy to read, and I'm recommending to everyone I can. Really brought me back to some of the stories from my young adulthood that shaped me, like Nancy farmer's "The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm." Thank you Mr Ptah for this beautiful gem of a story!!

When I read this book, I said to myself, this is like Game of Thrones meets Harry Potter. It’s a beautiful combination of history, mystery and magic. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat as each chapter ended. This is certainly one of the most creative books I’ve read in a long time. I felt like I received a history lesson, all while being pulled along through different fantasy worlds, which is a hard thing to achieve. Do yourself a favor, and get this book!!!

I have heard the story of Osiris before but never heard it told like this. This book is a masterpiece! I love how the author intwined the stories of different ancient civilizations In this one story. It’s a story within a story within stories. Like the movie Inception, when it was a dream within a dream within a dream. Children of the Sun is a true work of art. Job well done!

This book transports you through time. It weaves ancient civilization into our modern age. The author Heru, takes the reader on an exciting journey through other worlds and dimensions while keeping you connected to your roots. I couldn’t put it down and read it cover to cover in one sitting. Can’t wait for the next one in the series to drop.

For starters, I bought this book off of the author on the subway in New York City on September 16 of 2023. It’s sat in my drawer for almost a year until I picked it up last week. I couldn’t put it back down. You can tell that he did his research Before and during this book. I’m glad I read it and I cannot wait for part two. I’m very excited to find out what happens next.
