Great if treated correctly.
This is great. I've got a staffie who regularly chews up butchers bones so she's not lacking in the jaw strength department. Some other reviews have stated their dogs have damaged these. In my experience if you let your dog chew the ball the ball gets chewed up. If your dog is trained to retrieve and drop the ball I don't think you'll have a problem. I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and have the smaller and larger one and they show no signs of deterioration. As for their brightness, they glow and aren't as bright as a USB charged ball with a bulb but they are quite easily seen if they've been exposed to light for long enough and the glow is good. They also glow for a while quite easily lasting for around 3/4 of an hour. I generally leave mine under a lamp for about twenty minutes before going out. These seem durable and more reliable than the other USB type and I'd have no problem recommending them as long as they're treated in the right way they do a great job.

These balls are a life-saver! I have bought a torch which I take out with me and the balls are fully lit within 5 minutes and glow for up to 30 minutes thereafter! I have purchased 6 now and they do not disappoint. Finally I can take my 3 Staffies (twins of 4 years and their mother who is 6 years old) out to the park in the evening and entertain them while they get a superb round of exercise on top! The balls are amazingly durable, NO DESTRUCTIONS yet which is amazing, especially as each of my dogs like to chew on them several times before handing them back to me :-) The balls also make a whistling noise when you throw them which totally excites my dogs. BEST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. I can not recommend enough! Just one note to Amazon question, the size large ball is too big for the standard flinger - see photo attached :-)

walk your dog at night, get this!
This is a great toy, very boring to look at in the day, but in the dark comes into its own and emits a strong green glow. Floats, and withstands my demon GSD jaws. Not sure why, but there is a hole through the middle, which doesn't seem necessary but perhaps helps the glow. No batteries, I find the best way is to charge it is to put under the worktop light for 20 minutes before we go out (while I have my cuppa). The glow lasts well over an hour, if you forget though, it will charge up a bit in less than 5 mins and even popping in my bag with torch on will recharge it enough so you can see it.Only down side, surface tends to pick up dust which dulls the glow, but quick rinse & its ok again.Very good valueJust an update, not very easy to see in snow.

But it's wonderful! My dog and I absolutely love it
I was a bit doubtful about this, having read some unenthusiastic review comments. But it's wonderful! My dog and I absolutely love it.It helps to have put it in the light for some minutes before taking it outside at night. But if I forget to do this, I use my torch for few seconds' burst of intense light before throwing it each time as the ball glows enough to be seen well for each throw. I've yet to find that the glow wears off before we stop playing. Another way of keeping the glow topped up, if I have to go some distance before playing ball, would be to put it in my pocket with a small torch that's been switched on.An unexpected bonus is that it's easy to find the ball if it accidentally goes into the bushes or long grass - the glow gives its position away. The ball is hollow, and has holes that you could thread a rope through. It's a little bit squashy rather than rigid, which is much better for the dog's teeth when he catches it in full flight, and he can mouth it a bit too. I think it will be long-lasting.

This is to doggy balls as the M1 is to a country lane.
This is new thinking applied to balls specifically for dogs. Firstly my dog loves it. It compresses for him in a very satisfying way giving the right resistance to his jaw muscles. Its bounce and bounce noise characteristics are midway between a ping pong ball and a tennis ball which seems to suit my dogs play preferences. He destroys tennis style dog balls in a couple of throws and skins them in no time at all which has led me to use solid rubber balls which are durable but really quite heavy causing quite a blow if a catch is miss-timed. The Chuckit is quite light so does not jar his teeth and, after 3 weeks of use, remains unmarked. It has slight ridges moulded into it which, combined with its nonslip surface and distortability, means he can grip the ball in all sorts of angles and sometimes gives the impression he is blowing bubble gum. Finally I have tested it in a bucket of water and it does just about float. My dog is very enthusiastic about this ball and my wife says it works well with standard ball throwing thingies. I am as happy as a dog with two tails. P.S. I leave this on a sunny windowsill and it is also illuminated from the spotlight system in my kitchen and yes - it does glow quite strongly in the dark. This is only useful if you go ball chucking in the dark. Only if the wind is right and you throw or kick it quite hard will it whistle. I personally feel these features can be disregarded
