Easy to Grow, as easy as any other seed
This seed is cultivated to handle dryer and generally harsher environments found along the southeastern coast from Virginia down. The way things heat up now, I believe it is appropriate for a wider area. I cannot say I see a significant improvement over the heat tolerant bluegrass - but I have no way of objectively measuring a difference. That said, I will try to only use this from now on. My lawn needs whatever heat and water improvement as possible! Can't understand why some say its is harder to grow... like any other, keep the ground moist until it is 3 inches tall or so, and you will get what you are looking for.

Not durable.
Dies off rapidly during dry periods. Seems very slow to germinate.

Scotts takes care of their customers.
Product is fantastic, have used for years, had a problem this time, Scotts took care of it, no questions asked. Always buy Scotts.

Grows fast
It started off as a great fast growing grass. In the end it does not germinate any more grass blades than those that pop up after the first application. The grass is about a month old and is still green but the strands are sparsely distributed and won’t suffice unless they start to germinate new shoots after time. I may be back to sodding after this.

Still growing in Central Texas!
People here say you can't grow Fescue in Central Texas, but I'm here to say that you can! With the heat being over 100 for more than 55 days, and still getting up here, you would think that it would have died. Nope. The Bermuda did, though. With cooler temps coming up I hope that it spreads nicely for another season of green. I even purchased a 20 pound bag for my neighbors as they, like me, are not fans of Bermuda and have always had beautiful, green, tall and soft fescue. It is a little expensive, but I suppose since it had lasted here it is well worth it. Plus as a bunch grass, it should spread, although it isn't going as fast as others. Still, beats having vines as your yard!!

Old, expired seed, relabeled with a new test/expiration date. Very low 10-15% germination rate.
Scotts is relabeling expired seed and selling it as new. I cannot get this seed to germinate, despite watering 4 times a day to keep moist, and 70-75 degrees Virginia daytime temps. This seed is easily 2 years old. Originally certified to 85% germination rate. This is good seed if purchases fresh. I have used it for several years. I have been reseeding my lawn for over 30 years. It is not a mistake by me. IT IS OLD EXPIRED SEED BEING SOLD ON AMAZON BY SCOTTS. No way to get a refund or exchange after it is spread in your yard. Do yourself a favor and check the certification label closely. If there is a second label on top of the original certification label immediately return this junk product. I do not understand why Scotts would tarnish their reputation by selling expired product. Why does Amazon allow this to be sold? This is nothing short of criminal behavior and a total scam against Amazon customers.

Planted in Fall, really took off the next Spring
I spread the seed around my yard which was full of weeds around Labor day last year. watered for ab 20 minutes 2ce a day, unless it rained (my water bill still doubled though ugh). I had quite a few sprout bunches within a few weeks and it kept filling in better as it got colder. It stayed green and pretty through the winter but never really died out. THEN Starting in February this year it totally took off. It has been growing and spreading like crazy! It is a beautiful dark green and super soft! I am going to wait to decide to plant more until after I see how well it does in the Arkansas heat and drought this summer.
