I recently got two 1/2 gallon Ball Jars for Sweet Tea & Lemonade I made. I didn’t want to use the metal lids that came with the jars. I bought these plastic lids to use with all my Ball jars I have (I use them regularly for all sorts of things)The lids were packed together in a box. The silicone rings need to be placed in each lid. Not difficult at all. (There’s a little scoop tool to make removing the rings for cleaning, easier)I love all the colors! They’re bright and very pretty! (think of childrens toys. The vibrancy of each color)The thickness of the lids are high quality. They’re sturdy and fit the jars perfectly.The price was good as I always look for a deal.These lids don’t leak. I shook & shook and still no leaks. They are easy to take on & off too.I recommend these and will be repurchasing if needed.

I hate the inevitable rust & discoloration of a second use standard metal lid. These are beautiful vibrant colors that I can use to color code the different food in each!The inner silicone seals work great at least the first and second uses and I foresee getting many uses out of them if washed & maintained properly.

I tested these out with and without the silicone seal. They work equivalent to the white and gray Ball lids. Without the seal, they work well, but will leak if you shake it hard or leave the jar on its side. With the seal, it works pretty well to not leak. You should always test it well with a good shake, as sometimes the seal isn’t as tight as can be. I’m happy with the purchase.
