Works great.

I wanted to like this thing, I really did.Out of the box, the installation went fine. Nothing too tricky installing it in a BRP Oxygen helmet.I tried it out without the app just playing music and talking over the intercom without the app and it worked OK. It was a bit slow responding to button presses but not horrible.The main reason that I got this unit over another brand was the U-safe feature, which you need the app for. I connect it to the app and do the firmware update that it tells me. After the update, button presses don't register part of the time, the toggle to turn on the gesture control doesn't work, the music randomly goes into background music and the voice commands don't work correctly.The following summarizes my experience with the unit perfectly.Me: MicrophoneUClear: Microphone mutedMe: Unmute MicrophoneUClear: Microphone mutedMe: MicrophoneUClear: Microphone mutedMe: Microphone onUClear: Microphone mutedI looked when this update was released and it was over a month ago, so it must not be important for Uclear to have their highest tier product working. There is also no way to roll back the firmware to a working one.Sending it back immediately.

Speakers are barely loud enough if you like to ride with earplugs. But they work. The touchless controls are worth less. They constantly pick of my shoulder if I move my head to the side, when this happens the command given blares in your ears at a much higher volume then what you’ve set.Worked great until I tried to update the software. To use the app, you have to give them access to everything. Why does it need my precise location and access to my contacts to give it an update? Ridiculous.The updates also say they can take several hours to do? Why, how I’ve never seen any other headset work like this.

The sound wasn’t that great kind of complicated to use had to reattach it to my phone constantly it never really linked up right to the other riders and I watched it go bouncing down the highway on Elvis Presley Blvd. needless to say I can’t return it when cars ran it over

We have been using these for short rides but have put about 1k miles on them. Easy to use, maybe .5mi line of sight intercom function. Volume good, mikes good. Only issue I had was the "Quick Access" button came off of mine within a couple weeks. Contacted support and the sent a replacement unit within a couple of days. The old unit would still function it just is no longer waterproof. VERY pleased with support due to the fast response. Due to covid I am waiting on 2 other companies to resolve issues that should be as easy but they have taken months. UCLEAR gets BONUS points for how fast they resolved. I would have given 5 stars but I did have that one issue... Recommend and will buy in the future if adding more helmets. UPDATE- Over 9 months in ad units are still strong. Noted some people complaining about songs skipping or volume changing... I guess they do not realize that this unit can use hand gestures to control volume and skip songs. Look in the app and adjust or turn off that control. Issues occur when people do not notice they install the motion sensor where it is always seeing movement in neck and shoulders. Range is solid at about 1/2 mile in my experience. Good news is if a partner drops they get added right back as soon as they are in range. Probably should have a spent a little time at home practicing how to control the unit versus trying to learn on rides... It would have shortened my learning curve. Sound quality and sound reduction are great. I have used in snow and rain without issue.
