Authentic, flavorful honey!
I’ve heard great things about Manuka honey so I was very excited to try! I always struggle with a sore throat in the winter, a spoonful of this manuka honey in tea has helped me survive cold weather. I’ve also been experimenting adding it in my yogurt and toast! The flavor is and health benefits are unbeatable.

GREAT TASTE & GREAT HEALTH BENEFIT
Manuka Honey in an affordable size is nice, BUT AFFORDABLE MANUKA HONEY IN NICE BIG SIZE WOULD BE BETTER!

Nice floral/herbal flavor with this medicinal honey
I had only previously used manuka honey a few times, I hadn't bought it myself before due to the price tag, but I have used regular honey (local, raw, organic) to help sooth my through and help fight respiratory infections when I have been sick. A good quality honey and cinnamon are a great medicinal combo. Based on the benefits of manuka honey specifically, this should be even better medicinally than traditional honey. The texture is sort of somewhere in between regular honey and raw honey. It's thicker than regular honey, you're not able to pour it. But the texture is smoother and less granular than some other raw honeys I've used before. It tastes good, with both floral and herbal tastes without being overpowering. It's a bit pricey, but authentic manuka honey usually is as it is only sourced from New Zealand. A little goes a long way so even taking a small dose daily, this should last you a month or two. This brand appears to be UMF certified, on the NZ certification website it is license #2037 and looks to be under an umbrella brand of "King Honey Limited". This gives me pretty good confidence that it is authentic, but I wouldn't personally be able to tell by taste if it was fake, as I have not had enough experience with manuka honey vs. traditional honey. I would be interested to see how it stacks up for someone who is more experienced with using manuka honey regularly.

The flavor is heavenly
I got this for my wife who likes foods that are supposed to have health benefits and also taste good. This fit the bill for her though she confessed that she likes the milder taste of clover honey better though she appreciates the greater complexity of the flavors of manuka honey.I’m a skeptic when it comes to health foods (though a strong believer in healthy eating), especially when they are very expensive, so I don’t think I would have ordered this. But I felt compelled to taste it before writing a review.I was blown away by the taste. I find normal honey too sweet to eat by itself though I like it when added to bread and cooked dishes. But this honey has a slightly earthy, less sugary taste with much more complex flavors than regular honey. It also has a really nice texture. Just so you know, I’m a vegetarian and like strong natural flavors and find most highly-processed foods insipid. For example, I generally prefer whole wheat breads to white breads and wild rice and some brown rice to white rice. I would compare the flavor of this honey to some of my other favorite flavors (truffles, good parmesan cheese, shitake and matsutake mushrooms, cinnamon, and vanilla beans) in terms of how much I enjoy it.So despite the high price (compared to normal honey), I would buy it again because I really love the flavor. And eat it in a small quantity of no more than a teaspoon at the very most. I like to put a very small quantity on my tongue (with a plastic utensil to avoid any interaction with metal) for each taste. I think that helps me appreciate the flavor without getting too much and it certainly provides more bang for the buck. I wouldn’t eat a full teaspoonful in a single sitting.I wouldn’t buy this honey (or any other food) solely for the health benefits except to treat a specific medical condition when there is good evidence of efficacy.

Delicious – Genuine Manuka Honey
This Manuka honey is delicious. Manuka honey has a different taste than traditional honey. It has a somewhat herbal/floral flavor – hard to describe. We love Manuka honey in this house & have tried many – we’ve never had one we didn’t like but not everyone likes the flavor. The honey comes from bees who gather pollen from manuka bushes – a scrub tree/bush that grows in New Zealand & Australia. The rating MGO (methylglyoxal) tells you how much Leptosperin, DHA and Methylglyoxal are in the honey (the naturally occurring compounds from the Manuka bush honey). The UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) is a grading system based on the MGO.Manuka honey is reputed to have many health benefits – I do not know if that is true but it certainly tastes good so it is no hardship to use it as “medicine”. This particular jar is UMF 15+ (the rating goes up to UMF 25+). This is a middle rating. I like it by the teaspoon, on its own, so I can fully enjoy the flavor. This brand is UMF certified – License #2037. Google UMF.org.nz to learn more & see the full listing of certified Manuka honey brands. There is a lot of fake Manuka honey out there so be sure you are getting the real thing.

Plastic jar with thick, medicinal honey
I've tried Manuka honey before, and one of the things that amazed me is how it has a slight bite or sting at the back of the throat. It's not unpleasant, just distinct. I use it when I have a sore throat, and it clears it right up.This honey has slightly less of that "bite" to it. I don't know if that means it is slightly less potent, or what. It's still good honey, and it tastes sweet, but in a medicinal way. I know this sounds strange, but it had a flavor VERY vaguely reminiscent of Vick's vapor rub.The consistency is thick, and it has the characteristic grainy texture that Manuka honey usually has. It's kind of like little grains of sugar suspended in the honey. I personally like the texture a lot, but it's definitely a surprise the first time you try it.I'm not really enthused that this comes in a plastic jar. For $40, you'd think they could spring for a nice glass jar. Anyway. It arrives unbroken and unleaking, at least.
