Don't worry about the smell mentioned in other reviews - just air it out before use and it's fine. You can adjust this pillow to whatever firmness you want. I have suboccipital (neck) pain, migraines, and shoulder pain. I was desperate for a new pillow after an ER visit for locked up neck and shoulder muscles. Don't overcomplicate it by buying weirdly shaped pillows claiming to solve your neck pain. Just buy this, and adjust it to whatever works for you. The pair of queen sized pillows is an excellent deal. The removable cover is very soft and silky. It's a little tough to stuff your marshmallow of a pillow into it, but it does help it hold its shape, which I was worried about when I removed the case for airing it out. The removable case should make it easy to clean. My queen pillow case is a touch short. My husband and I both removed a fair amount of stuffing and still feel like we need to remove more - especially me, as I like a fairly soft pillow. At this rate, we could make a third pillow. Great support for my neck, with enough give that it doesn't create pressure on the wrong areas. Feels like a high quality pillow to me. Due to the moldable nature of the pillow, I can stuff some to either side so I have space for my shoulder as a side sleeper without an expensive crescent shaped pillow.

Some backstory: I have had sleep issues for the past several years of my life, and that pretty much set me out on a quest to find a really good pillow. I spent so much money on pillows and eventually I found the Coop Home Goods Eden pillow that I mostly liked but at normal price it costs 80$. It lasted me a while, but eventually it grew to be uncomfortable and I knew it was time to get a new one. I did not want to spend 80$ again, and especially during these rough times, so I bought an 11$ pillow but I started to have massive back pain. It hurt so bad and I was trying to hold off until some sale happened with the Eden pillow, but I could not bare with my new back pain. I thought to myself, there has to be a cheaper alternative out there somewhere now that a few years have passed. So that lead me to find this pillow!I was pretty wary because when I purchased it, it only had like 3 reviews (now there are a few more), but hey everyone has to start somewhere. As a graphic designer, I liked that the branding surrounding the product looked quite nice. Among the sea of product listings on Amazon there is just so much ugly design. This made me trust it a little more. I know that good design does not always equate to a good product, but it did here. Everything I received looks like the actual product listing images. When I opened it up it had barely any of that memory foam smell that one usually gets when buying any memory foam products. Even if it had the smell I would not complain because I have never gotten a memory foam product that did not have that smell, so I was prepared for it. It would only be bad if it never went away! So one thing that is different compared to my previous more expensive version, is that this one seems to have more microfiber fill in its blend. I am not 100% sure because over the time Coop Home's had sent me "extra filling" as part of their 5 year warranty plan, and so it was a mixture that I could not properly compare for this review. I am okay with it, because I like how microfiber feels but it does eventually go flat, so I am a bit worried that I may have to replace this one sooner but only time will tell. Regardless this pillow is finally a pillow that is ACTUALLY soft for me like the description says. I like soft fluffy things that still feel soft even when you lay your big ol' head on it and compact it. This pillow does just that for me, and it has a nice little bounce. I do think the "cool and comfy" bamboo pillow cover that it came with is of lesser quality compared to the one that comes with Coop Home's pillows. It was quite thin and a large string came loose after my initial wash. Regardless, I still like it because it adds to the softness and feels nice so I am still happy with it. In the end, I did not buy this for the pillow case. Lastly, I am someone who mostly sleeps on their side, but I roll around to different positions throughout the night quite often. I have no more back pain, and I am comfortable sleeping in any position. This is just how pillows are, they work for some and not others. My review is based on comparing it with the Coop Homes Good Eden Pillow! Hopefully this one lasts and is still around the next time I need a new pillow! Good luck on your pillow quests everyone!

This is pillow perfection for a person who has spent a fortune on pillows! On the day that I opened the package, I was having severe neck pain and a headache. I decided to lie down for a while to try to ease it. Sometimes I can’t even stand for my head to touch a pillow when I’m like this. I opened the package and removed the pillow. I didn’t like the way it smelled, but it wasn’t exceptionally strong. Followed recommendation to put it in the dryer with dryer sheets. I put the “cooling” pillow cover in the dryer, too. There’s also a “warm” pillow cover. Ran the dryer 20 minutes. Removed it and the smell was gone and it was perfectly lofty and fluffy. When I pressed on the pillow, it seemed soft, but firm enough to not collapse under the weight of my head. Then I lay down on the pillow and was amazed at the perfect comfort! I didn’t need to add any of the additional fill that comes with it, so I’m glad to have that for later. Until I fell asleep, all I could think about was how comfortable and soothing this pillow is. It didn’t heal me, but allowed me perfect comfort and relief while laying on it. I very highly recommend this pillow and am shocked that it doesn’t cost 3x what I paid for it. This is an amazing value.EDITED TO ADD: I’ve been using this pillow for some time now and love it even more than when I first received it. I’ve just ordered 2 more. One to give as a gift and a spare for myself, “just in case”. This really is an amazing pillow. I’ve added the additional fiber filling and it’s just perfect. Firm but gives, doesn’t fold in and crush or smother my face. Never goes flat. As a chronic neck pain sufferer, it’s been an answer to all of my pillow needs. My closets are filled with expensive pillows that I only used a short time.
