Cool it down, keep it quiet! ❄️
The SilverStone SST-NT09-115X Nitrogon CPU Cooler is a low-profile, high-performance cooling solution designed specifically for Intel LGA1156/1155/1150/1151 processors. Standing at just 45mm tall, it fits perfectly in compact systems while its custom 92mm PWM fan ensures efficient cooling with minimal noise, making it ideal for both professional and personal setups.

Media centre itx case.
Works well but noisy when at 100% but can hear it when running at slower fan speeds. Good price and very low profile.

Good for the price.
Overall it's a good fan for the price. The only reason I've taken a star away is because for some reason it takes a while to get up to speed. I've had to lower my RPM threshold to 500 just so I don't get a CPU fan error on startup. It soon speeds up though and keeps the CPU perfectly cool under load.

Don't bother with the SST-NT07-115X for slim HTPC setup
A bit of background - I've installed CPU coolers a few dozen times in my life so I know how to install them and never had an overheating issue before.First thing - the bracket at the back of my mini ITX motherboard didn't fit flush on the back but the cooler still seems to fit flush. I used the supplied thermal compound at first fit on an i5-4430s (TDP 65W) underclocked from 2.7GHz to 2.2GHz.Within 5 minutes of the PC being on, and with the case not even sealed, the temp rocketed up to 58 degrees. In a sealed unit, the temp hit 69 degrees so I had to turn the fan to max and under minimal load it was running at 67-68 degrees (i.e. absolutely no programs open). Max my CPU can handle is 72 degrees. Max fan speed is LOUD.I decided to try an i3-4340 which has a lower TDP of 54W.This time I used Arctic MX-4. With the case off first it was hitting 58 degrees and with the case on it hit 66 degrees before I shut it down as 67 degrees is the max the CPU can handle. Will be returning this to try an alternative fan as this one is not fit for purpose.

Quiet, excellent low starting speed of just 500rpm. Used on Optiplex 7020
The heat sink is identical to the one on the stock cooler, but the 80mm stock fan is replaced with a larger 92mm on this cooler. It cools a 55W CPU to under 50 degrees under load, about 10 degrees cooler than stock while inaudible. Compatible mounting with the stock on 1150, with screws instead of clips, driven from the TOP side of the board into the included backplate, but not needed in my case. Stock screws can be used instead as they have better springs and insert more easily. Recommended.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much, nor did I need much. This delivered.I probably wouldn't stick it on a high powered chip but it works well enough (and quiet enough) on a 35watt skylake. The case fans were actually louderIt also came with it's own thermal paste applied so that saved me digging out my tube from god only knows where

Those bloody springs.
How would I improve this item? Just use normal screws. The cooler fits nicely into a case, and it feels well fitted. However, the springs are stiff and a pain to fit to the back plate. I'm giving this item 4 stars though as it does the job and is quiet as well.

Never going plastic again.
Got fed up of the horrible plastic clips of cheaper fans. This heatsink mounts wonderfully once you manage to line it up properly.
