Great game, great service
A really enjoyable game, a deckbuilder but with a board and a bag of wooden cubes. Replacing a deck with the bag of wooden cubes streamlines gameplay and loses the hassle of shuffling. A very accessible game that I've enjoyed with friends who enjoy complex strategy games and family who prefer simpler board games. My copy was missing one of the drawstring bags but Alderac sent me a replacement bag no quibbles.

Automobiles has sped up the line in my favorite games list.
This is a great game that combines bag (or pool) building and racing. You use cubes for both speeding around the track (with cubes matching track lengths) and for upgrading your car. Each game you can mix up the enhancements available for your car which adds some nice variability. I think there are a lot of thoughtful details in the game including how your car takes wear the faster you go, the way you can reduce wear by "drafting," and the variety in the car enhancement. The game plays (w/ players who know the game) in about 60-90 minutes and while you could argue it doesn't feel like a racing game, I find the game thematically appealing. It helps if you make "vrrrrooooom" noises when you play. of course. :) Automobiles has a nice blend of luck/randomness and strategy/tactics and doesn't overstay its welcome at the table. This and Thunder Alley (a very different kind of racing game) are my two favorite racing themed games.

A surprising gem of a game
I was really surprised by how much I love this game. Typically racing games are not my thing. But this is not a racing game as much as it is a cube builder (like a deck builder but with cubes in a bag ).You buy a different coloured cube each turn and then randomly draw them from the bag. The cubes represent different powers and can take you around the board at different speeds. It's a really fun game with a lot of possibilities for expansion.The one thing that was wrong was that my game came with only 4 bags, not 5. Apparently this is a common issue. I contacted the publisher (AEG) and they sent a replacement right away.

Worth picking up
This is one of my favorite games up there with dominion and stone age. Many different combinations of game play as you have multiple options for each "card set" or cube set. So this game never gets old. Very well balanced, every combination is fun and works well. Plays great for 2-5 players. Has some strategy but as long as the player likes at least light strategy this is a perfect game.

"Deck building" ...but with cubes.
This game plays like Dominion but with cubes and a bag instead of cards. It can feel complicated and I don't recommend it as your first "deck building" game. However, if you are a fan of the deck-building genre, this is a fantastic game. Plays just fine with two players, but it shines with 3-5.
