All New Built-Ins Idea Book: Closets*Mudrooms*Cabinets*Pantries (Taunton Home Idea Books)

What a great book with many ideas for all rooms in a home and even a garage. I bought this book for what it would offer in bookcases but have used designs from its pages in both the kitchen and bathroom as I am remodeling my lower level. I especially liked the built-in seating for breakfast nooks chapter. I used one side of the breakfast table with a built in and the other with moveable seating. It looks awesome. The built-ins will be used for storage of those large items which I use once or twice a year that take up a large amount of space, like turkey roasters. The cleaver use of space that a set of stairs can provide is worth the book alone. I like how the appliances are built into the kitchen walls, they look so clean and streamlined. If you are looking for a contemporary way of creating more space this is a book you will want to refer to before hard lining your plans.

I was enjoying my first copy so much and was upset when my dog got a hold of it so I had to order another copy. Normally I wouldn't bother replacing a paperback book but this was an exception because I really like the ideas, photography quality and the suggested dimensions for creating my own spaces. I'm definitely going to adapt some of the ideas into different areas in my home.

Liked the built ins described. And some of the details that went with the pictures were amazing and I'll definitely incorporate them.What I found challenging were some glaring Feng Shui faux pas! I know how to avoid them, like mirrors facing each other, but others reading this book might not know and use the ideas that could be potentially harmful.Great book overall though.

Great Book. Lots of good information.

Not very practical, just lots of pictures of great built ins, in rich people's houses where everything else in the room is already great--size, light, architectural details, etc.No before or after pictures, which would have been helpful. Like, here's where you can squeeze it in. No personal stories about who does it, costs, etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book -- it's packed full of great built-in ideas for your home. The only negative I have is that it would have been nice if the authors provided detailed plans to reproduce some of the ideas in the book. However, it's still a great starting point for built-in projects -- you just need to find a good cabinetmaker to make the dream a reality.

I have enjoyed this book with it's creative, interesting and relatively easy ideas for built-in clutter control. It would be nice to have some plans and procedures in there but it is an 'idea book' and not a 'plans book' so they are not expected.

My wife and I have been struggling for years to find ideas to make our current home more livable. This book has answered those longings. Lots of pictures and just enough text to get the reader thinking. I've been drawing sketches every night since the book arrived 7 days ago. I only wish I'd found this book sooner. You won't be disappointed.
