I loved ‘The Life and Adventures of Bert.’ It made me smile and cry and I completely empathised with the author and his love for his handsome boy. As a dog lover myself I recognised the author’s emotional responses to dear Bert and the book is very special to me. Thank you for writing this, Ross.

Well I never leave reviews. But this is a MUST read for anyone who loves animals. Especially dog lovers. Well written and honest. You don’t get that much nowadays. It has its happy and sad moments but will make you a better person for enriching yourself with this. Well worth a read and a keep. This book goes to show that we can live and love another species more than ourselves and that dogs really are the angels of the earth. ❤️🐾❤️. Hats off to the author. Bert was lucky to have found you.

With following Bert on Twitter I already knew what a wonderful boy he was, reading the book made me appreciate him even more. No matter how long we have with our best friend it’s never long enough. I laughed and also cried buckets reading this book but I loved it. Hug your best friends every day. We should all try to be a bit more Bert 🥰

This book was a really good read, told a story with so many emotions, loved it

From a Twitter account that showed an older Labrador being too cool to splash about in water, but would rather just plonk himself down, I grew to like the adventures of Bert & his Dad, Ross.Sadly, all things must pass and age finally caught up to Bert and when it was announced over Twitter we were all very saddened for those who cared for him.Through that grief, Ross picked himself up and devoted a lot of spare time, numerous drafts and asking around about how to write a book.Quite an amazing backstory, but the layout of the actual book is very well structured in layers of sentiment. There's the poems written at the start, then a narrative detailing that prose and then finally some photos. In each Chapter.It's an excellent first up effort from someone who was only asking a year or so ago about maybe doing this.I have been gobsmacked at how Bert survived up until he was found on the road, and he really hit the jackpot finding Ross... Or was that the other way around?The book shows what one can achieve when the heart is allowed to pour out it's feelings. Ross could have simply said it was too much to do, but instead taught himself how to go about this authorship & bring Bert's story to life.An enchanting charming book. Well done all involved. 5 stars.

Bert! What can I say?! He was and still is A Mega Star! Such a beautiful, gorgeous, kind and cuddly gentle dog, almost human really. I have followed Bert a couple of years and saw many video’s which were proudly shown on Twitter, to Berts Followers, and boy, did we appreciate them!....His life story and his life certainly brightened my life every day. If you have never seen Bert on Twitter and just come across this book and you are a Dog Lover....Buy It!.....it will truly be your best Doggie Book you’ve ever read to date. The photos from day one until his very sad passing of his last day are just stunning. He lived in Scotland in such an awesome place, in the scenery to die for. The Authors drawings are comical and just perfect for Bert. He was and Is a Dog amongst Dogs! Such a beautiful book, you just won’t want to put it down. Thank You Bert for sharing your life with us all. I hope to cuddle you one day. 🐶💖 Sonia.

As I read this loving tribute to the bestest boy I could hear 'you are my sunshine, my only sunshine' being sung quietly to Bert on his last day. If you have ever been owned by a dog this book will call out to you. It reflects how much better a life can be with a faithful four legged furry friend a dog. As so rightly said a dog will love you more than it loved itself, you can do no wrong in your dogs eyes.I've had this book since it was published but couldn't bring myself to read it. I followed Bert and family probably within days of his joining Twitter and wasn't sure I was ready to read his book yet. Beautifully written by a fellow dog lover. He's right, if you need lifting after a bad day, #Dogsoftwitter will lift your mood and make you smile.I smiled, I loved the descriptions of where they walked, I cried so much (again). a love story between a man and his dog

A lovely book about a lovely dog.

I followed this story before the book came out and I was very impressed and moved by the generosity and love shown to an unwanted dog just because. These lovely dog parents turned him into the most beautiful, healthy, and happy dog and made him a very important part of their family because he deserved to be part of such a loving family. Of course he couldn’t live forever and when he left them they mourned as if they had had him since he was 1 day old. They gave him the best stone they could continue to visit I have ever seen. It’s gorgeous and not only that they keep his memory alive by sharing pictures they took of him while was happy and at peace. I think Bert is most deserving of this book and it’s just another example of how much they loved him put into words. I haven’t finished it to be honest because I get so emotional and I can’t see anymore. I thank these people more than they know for doing such a loving, caring thing and continuing it with such a wonderful book.

This book put me through all the feels - I was laughing out loud, crying happy and sad tears. The way the author describes his relationship with Bert is so full of love and admiration - you can feel the special bond they had (and still have). There is a lot more to say about this book but I would recommend reading it yourself - it is more than worth it!Thank you for this beautifully written book, it holds a special place in my heart.

A pure, unconditional love that changes a life for the better

A must read for any dog lover who has lost a pet. Beautifully and evocatively written . Every word straight from the heart. So glad I got the chance to read it.
