Q: Is it finished with both wax and oil - is it of better quality than the spatula within a £15 set sold by Naturally Med as well?

These spatulas are of variable quality, some better than others. My second one was 50% lighter than the first. Just treat with olive oil.

Q: Do you oil your spatula on a regular basis pls (could I get away without doing this)?

Yes you can get away without doing this. If you find the spatula is starting to look grey and tired you can easily oil it with some cooking oil to bring the colour back.

Q: How thick is the wide end? Not how wide or long, but how thick. There are no side-on photos!

The spatula is beveled with a slight scoop in it so the width is not constant. At the thinnest point (along beveled edge) it's approx 1/2 cm. the middle bit of spatula end is approx 12-15mm.
