OWC NWTNUSTALYMINI Newertech NuStand Alloy for Mac Mini

As per all other reviews can confirm this does fit 2018 Mac Mini but a little loose. Silicon insert is itself too loose onto aluminium as well. Natural colour is nice but would look better space grey to match the Mac & the silicon would look better in black in my opinion. Product would look better without logo which incidentally is not OWC’s logo which is blue and says “OWC” so don’t know what’s going on there!However, after all is said and done it achieves my goal (cooling & space) in a simple and pleasing manner for let’s be honest, a fraction of the cost of other solutions so I am happy with it and rate it 4 stars.

I purchase this Mac Mini stand since my Mac Mini has always sat flat on my pc desk. This tends to provide 2 issues, the first is that my desk has a bar built into the back of it for structural support meaning any wires at the back of my Mac Mini had to go up & over it which looked a mess. The second issue was placing the Mac Mini flat on my desk meant that the vent on the base was slightly covered, which means that air was compromised & so the machine could run slightly hot.Thankfully this stand solves both of these issues. The design of the stand is nicely arched, which raises my Mac Mini high enough so that any cables clear my pc desks support bar & also because this stand is designed to vertically mount your Mac Mini, the base is completely clear without any obstruction allowing perfect ventilation.The stand is well designed & the aluminium perfectly fits the Mac Mini's unibody aluminium design. It also features a nice rubber guard, which perfectly cushions the Mac Mini. Take a word of caution though & don't push to firmly when mounting the Mac Mini. I did this & accidentally made the rubber cushion come out, which was a bit fiddly to get back in, but it does it's job suitably.I would happily recommend this to anybody looking for a stylish & practical stand for your Mac Mini as this will undoubtably fit nicely on any pc desk & also frees up a bit of space too.

The Mac Mini was not designed to be placed vertically on a stand, however this stand is great for space savers and works perfectly for me and my set up. Some reviews claim the fit for the latest Mac Mini (Space grey 2018 model) is loose, this is true but it fits well enough that it wont topple over or lean to one side. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is it only comes in one colour (Aluminium/grey to match the original mac mini) and I wish the logo was a little bit more subtle - but this is understandable, the company wants to promote their brand. Overall its a good product.

First impression is that this is a piece of junk. It has no weight or stability and the base corners have pitiful stick on rubber feet that come away the first time it is moved, as if they were attached like post-it notes.The mini sits at an angle and there is a clear space at the side, plus the internal silicone moves around and comes loose, placing the case at greater risk of scratches from the metal alloy. I let it sit there for a while and it did nothing for temperatures, plus you are just left with a feeling that the slightest nudge would bring the whole thing down if you were changing a cable.Finally I ran a test exporting a video and found CPU temperatures are not really any different than before. Perhaps it is shaving 1-2C off the top end, but this was with the base facing a nearby open window on a cool day with rain outside. The case feels as hot as before.All in all it may save a little space on the desk but the downsides are far too numerous. A small stand that raises the base about an inch from the desk but stays flat would be far better. I paid £1900 for this computer and would not would not rely on this stand to keep it safe.

When I first got the Mini it sat on the lowest shelf of an old 80's hi-fi rack which has the top of an old chest screwed to the top where the monitor sits.Other shelves full of electronic junk and "PC Tower" Windows/Linux on floor adjacent.I had thought of using a vertical stand like some NAS drives I have but couldn't find any likely piece of metal lying around without a bit of rework. This stand although relative expensive for what it is i.e. a bit of bent metal does the job well , protecting the finish of the Mac by the soft silicone liner. The SD card slot can now be top if you use it frequently or if like me you don't use the power buttton very much but of course you can flip it over in this stand to reach it easily if you want. I've ended up sitting it on the top of the "Tower" where it sits slightly below desktop level also adding some USB extensions for convienience

Bought this 'house' my Mac Mini 2018.at first glance ... plastic/silicon not attached properly. doesn't stay in place.Once i resolved that issue... Mac Mini does stay quite upright... tilts to one side. Specifically, when cables are attached.When in place ... looks ok. Secure... well put it aside somewhere safe. Ensure No Knocks.... house of cards springs to mind!

I bought this to fit a Mac Mini 2018 - I can happily say it does fit the stand well, and it comes with a rubber insert which fits over the inner aperture which then allows the Mac to fit in it and have a very snug fit. It doesn’t move about or tip over as other reviews say. Please see photos - I am happy with this, bought to have it standing - impressed overall.There is a logo sticker on one end just FYI. Very light and has foam padding on feet for anti slip. Deff worth the money! ☺️👊🏻

A very smart and useful device if you want to better ventilate your mac mini. It's as simple as it can be but it performs its role perfectly. I've read other comments about the insert not being secure enough. Whilst it's true it can come loose It's not a deal-breaker or a situation that should occur ofter, and remedying it is super fast and simple.
