Perfect for protecting massive areas of block paving on a budget
I must confess, I am a worshipper of Resiblock. I coated my front garden block paving with the stuff last year - two generous coats needed on 10-year old untreated block paving - and it looked phenomenal. AND no weeds returned for a whole year. Absolutely top class product. But with top class products, come top prices. Moving along to our back garden - this year's project - with at least 4 times as much untreated block paving, the cost was going to be prohibitive. Probably pushing £300 - if not more - I had to abandon my Resiblock loyalty and find something else to do the job. This is where Everbuild's Path & Patio Paving Sealer comes in. At 25 litres, this was a monster-sized sealant at a very affordable price - about the same price as 5 litres of Resiblock. I was concerned about the 'milky' effect - which is mentioned in other reviews despite overall excellent ratings - but I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go.I chose a very sunny day, with a couple of days prior also being dry, to make sure the block paving wasn't even remotely damp, let alone wet - and set to work. I realised immediately that the liquid was very runny/watery and my roller wasn't really of much use, as it was splashing all over the place. I decided to opt for a couple of different sized brushes and put in the grunt work, The liquid is indeed milky-coloured, and I took the advice of others and ensured any areas where the liquid seemed to pool, were brushed out to avoid any patching. Because of the weather, the block paving dried very quickly. I decided not to run over a second coating on the same day (I've yet to do it) just because I didn't want to end up with a milky sheen if the bottom coating wasn't dry enough first.Once dry, the area looked like it had been treated - just - but didn't really carry a sheen of any kind. I think, based on photos from other reviewers, had a applied a second coat, this would have been more apparent. As it happens, I had untreated, very thirsty bricks. Because of the thin liquid, a little went a long way, and I still have plenty left for a second coat and to do two coats on the next section of block paving. The next time it rained, you could see the water repelling, which told me all I needed to know about the effectiveness of the product - it is certainly doing its job. It looks better in the rain! A few weeks on, there are no hints of weeds, either - I think perhaps because the combination of jet washing, resanding and sealing has kept those pesky weeds at bay.If I could afford to, I would reach for the Resiblock. However, like a lot of people, I have to do what I can afford, and for that reason, Everbuild is an excellent product which will cover an absolutely massive area and keep our block paving ticking over nicely.

Excellent product and value
I purchased this for two reasons, firstly to seal our block paving driveway, secondly to seal a brand new Indian Sandstone patio.I've now used it on the sandstone patio and it looks great, used two coats to get a wetter looking finish, its worth noting that if you seal your sandstone patio with anything like this product, it will alter the look of the slabs when it rains, when it rains without the seal, the colours are just amazing, really rich and vibrate, once sealed with any seal, you will loose this effect, i've attached photos showing my patio sealed, the seal does definitely enhance the more vibrate slabs but no where near to what rain does on unsealed, this is a trade off for me, as I intend to use patio for BBQs etc and don't want grease stains to ruin the sandstone.Look at the image of my un-finshed patio, this was taken after when and without it being sealed, compare this to the 4 close-up images with seal, and make you choice, if you decide to seal, try some test pieces first, it may be worth buying a small sealer before committing to a large container like this.Application:Use a heavy duty roller, one with a metal frame 12" in size and ensure it has dual arms, not the typical one sided roller handle used for walls, I purchased a frame which has a half plastic bracket and it broke mid works, and you need to ensure you do the second coat within two hours of first. Also try to ensure that you roller as evenly as possible and don't let the seal "pool", use something like a shed/fence brush to brush out the excess sealer otherwise it will dry with a milky smooth finish which may ruin the look you want.buy the following from toolstation:60038 Prodec 12" double arm roller frame, (Metal) £6.5062842 Prodec Fibreglass & Aluminium Extension Pole 0.6m-1.2m £9.5714068 Rota Premier Toptex 5 piece roller sleeve set £18, but don't use the roller frame, thats what broke for meI've yet to do the driveway.I would definitely recommend this product, it is great value, and in my opinion sealers are sealers, I could have paid £120 for a similar product and size

The results are great - I swept both floors with a firm bristle ...
We had problem with a 5.4m x 10.75m shed we installed 5 years ago as the concrete base has become duster and dustier and the shed became almost unusable as anything stored in there went grey with dust so, without really thinking this would work, I ordered 50 litres to see if I could sort it out. I swept and vacuumed the shed (I ended up with a cement bag 2/3 full of dust) and then applied the first coat with a bucket and a soft broom - it took c. 23 litres for the first coat, as it really absorbed it. The next day it was quite clear there was NO MORE DUST but I applied a second coat - it went on much more readily and I used far less and I also did a third coat which used even less again. I had approx half a barrel left so was able to do two coats on another concrete floor in our basement, which was less dusty but still the dust was a problem (this was 3.85 x 4.65 meters so much smaller) That used up the whole 50 litres exactly. The results are great - I swept both floors with a firm bristle brush and there was no dust anywhere - it is fantastic as the shed will not become a games room and we can have a table tennis table in there so the kids are pleased. I can't account for how long it will last but it has certainly sealed the floor. For me the sweeping and cleaning of the floor was the worst part as the dust was everywhere the application was actually quite satisfying! I 100% recommend this and we have now ordered Everbuild patio sealant for the terrace as they are clearly good products. Also it arrive promptly and so a reliable supplier.
