Transformers Devastation (Xbox One)

So. Much. Fun. If you grew up with the G1 transformers you will love this. Although the game play is repetitive you won't care. Looks amazing, great cheesy 80s music and the original voice actors makes this a must.

It's the Transformers we've all come to know and love (no, not the Michael Bay ones you darn kids) with the tight Platinum games gameplay running through its veins. The action is fast, smooth and fun for gamers of all skill levels; the combat can give you a real power rush even when you're more of a casual gamer, but if you care to master all the intricacies you'll have an even better time. The game features much of the old VO cast and with the familiar, albeit slightly more polished and cell-shaded, look it's a real trip down memory lane.The game doesn't get a perfect score because at some parts you just feel the game had to be made in less time than Platinum Games is used to spend on their games. Activision probably gave them a 'hard' deadline and that shows in the somewhat empty worlds and relatively short time before you'll see the credits rolling. Like in every PG game there is enough reason to return to the game to set better scores, but I personally didn't feel the urge to get 100% SS ranks like I felt in most of their other games.All in all it gets a 4/5 and I would definitely pick the game up for £25 or less!

If you're a fan of Generation 1 Transformers then you simply must play this game. The story is just like playing in your own transformers episode or movie and the combat is great fun. The best thing though is the attention to detail of the transformers themselves, while not many of the autobots are included in the game I was stunned at the variety of decepticons that you fight, very impressive stuff.

Great condition works perfect, had no complaints form the kids and we all know if there was a problem the kids would be the first to let me know

Unfortunately 2 stars is being generous for this game. Its simply not good enough.The graphics are very basic and un detailed, the sound isnt form the original G1 series. Some of the characters voices are but star scream sounds terrible. The game is very repetitive and not fine tuned at all, You just bash the same buttons in sequence to basically combo attack the repetative enemiesIv only played an hour or so of this game, i will continue and complete the story mode and im glad i only paid a tenner for this game, i wasn't expecting it to be brilliant but it wasn't even as good as i expected it to be. When the cars get trashed on it they show no damage at all, in fact the graphics are comparable to sonic adventure on the dreamcast.

terrible game 7 year old was bored after a day

Very simplistic gameplay, great for younger gamers, or those that want a bit of retro game action, the latter is why I bought it. Inspired by the original, design, sound effects, visuals, and voice actors, so for that it's brilliant. Not the most interesting game, as it is more for kids, but for what I wanted it was good.

This game is a rush! Growing up with Transformers from the beginning I was hoping this would finally capture that authentic feel of generation one. It really didn't let me down. On the face of it you might think it's repetitive but actually you can really start to enjoy the nuances of the gameplay. Chaining attacks together plus all the different weapons and collecting things - It's just a blast for true Transformer fans.
