See bottom for updated review.I didn't get a chance to assemble because I didn't like that the acrylic was opaque. See picture. According to the description, the acrylic is supposed to be clear and transparent. I tried to carefully peel a possible protective film, but I don't want to damage it if I'm going to return if in fact its opaque and not a film. If its a film, it's almost impossible to peel. I may return it if I don't get an answer/tip under the questions.UPDATE: The opaque acrylic was in fact clear! The film was not easy to peel at first, but as soon as I found a corner/edge to pull back, it peeled perfectly! Looked really nice!

I bought a similar item as this (clear, acrylic sides with wood shelves) and it was also something you assembled yourself. However, it was poorly constructed so when the shelves are assembled, it was completed crooked and wobbly with no amount of fix or readjusting can help. I thought since this was made by a different manufacturer with decent reviews, maybe they will be better. Turns out this product is much worse than the other ones I originally bought as the other ones were cheaper and much more aesthetically pleasing. These look and feel plain cheap. At least with the other ones, it was a small fix for the crooked/wobbling, however for this particular shelf there's no way to fix it because the wood pieces are extremely cheap and warped. I don't want to un-assemble just to return it for the same poor product so I'll just trash it. Absolutely way overpriced for a poor product.

Good: Once assembled, is sturdy and looks good, just as shown on the product page. Assembly of shelves to to side supports was easy.Bad: Once assembled, did not lie flat on countertop. I had to add a felt pad to the left front corner; fortunately, I had some felt pads around that I could trim to fit. The protective film on the acrylic sides was very difficult and tedious to remove; it took a long time to be able to pull enough of one corner to then peel off the film.

The plastic sides are made of rather thin plastic but adequate for light use. The wood is also light weight but substantial enough. I'm certain it is obvious that the product must be put together by the recipient but it might be a good idea to state such in advertisement...... Perhaps I just overlooked that info.
